Santa Rosa, Calif. - A 26-year-old man was arrested on charges he molested a teenage boy he met through Microsoft Corp.'s popular Xbox Live online video game community, authorities said.

Ronnie Brendan Watts, of Placerville, delayed entering a plea Wednesday to charges that include using the Internet to solicit a minor, said Donna Edwards, a spokeswoman for the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office.

He is due back in court Jan. 20.

Santa Rosa police arrested Watts on Dec. 15 after the 14-year-old boy revealed details of the alleged relationship to his mother.

Detectives said Watts contacted the boy in October or November through the Xbox Live community

The tort lawyers will be lined up outside that kid's house waiting to talk to his parents about the injustice that their son suffered at the hands of that evil and wantonly negligent Microsoft.

??? A 14 year old child may be considered a willing participant by some e.g. NAMBLA -I consider the child a victim of an adult predator and I am pretty sure the law does as well...

Just so I don't get another bunch of posts implying I'm a nambla supporter, let me clarify.

the 14-year-old boy revealed details of the alleged relationship to his mother.

In Xbox there is no way for a predator to get personal information unless it's offered. The boy had to have been willingly carrying on a converstaion or relationship as the story says with the perp. Legally he's not old enough to consent to this but he was a willing participant.

He was a willing participant in conversation -when conversation became molestation he became a victim of a sick adult...

Their conversations progressed to sending e-mails and Web cam videos, with Watts allegedly sending the boy obscene video clips of himself, authorities said.

The teen eventually gave Watts his home address and telephone number and they met in a Santa Rosa park in November where the alleged physical abuse occurred.

This was no tricked child.
