Like I said, I liked Kate's character. Agreed, some are naughty and some nice, but I think a pretty fair range of women have been shown, the same has been true for the men... some are competent, some aren't. Some are good guys, some bad. Some are in between.

Most of the characters are 2 dimensional. If I had one stage direction it would be to the VPOTUS: "Could you be a little less evil. A little evil is fine. Just less."

And the tone does not lend itself to demonstrative people. The fact is that there is no humor in the show. None. Well, there might be some inside jokes (Did you catch the CTU red shirts -- think Star Trek -- this season?) but otherwise the tone is deadly serious.

Except in the case of Chloe. She can make me snicker with her sarcasm or just plain laugh. Chloe is an EXCELLENT character and very well rounded. Her statement to Jack last year about if he needs someone to talk to was just hilarious. I loved it!

I caught the red shirt. Very funny stuff.

I agree. The VP is over the top.

Chloe is unintentionally funny. They don't give her jokes, per se. Not even close. The writers caught on very quickly how to write for Mary Lynn (who should get an Emmy, BTW). She is funny, but they keep the tone when they're behind the 4th wall.

I think we'll be seeing the end of the Hobbit (only some men can pull off "Lynn") before the end of this season.

The writers are aware that Chloe can be funny while being serious. They read the Fox 24 forum (they've said so) and her sarcasm is well documented there and how unintentionally funny she is.

I don't know about Lynn. This show has unexpected twists. You never know who's staying and who goes. It's definately not a show I'd make bets on. ;)

I hated Sherry, and hated Palmer for taking so long to kick her to the curb... She was tiresome and I often went for a beverage refill when she was on.

Kim wasn't on season four.

Like I said, I know she did computer stuff, but I don't think she was ever at the level of Chloe and Edgar.

I think they'll pull her in because she does know the CTU protocols (*drink*) but I also think it leaves an opening to bring Spenser back in.

It's just speculation.
