Click on the pic.
I think I'll be waiting for the version with the Picatinny top rail, though. And for ammo to get a bit cheaper and more plentiful...

My C&R has bveen the most expensive thing I have ever bought. And yes, you are right about Mitchell's Mausers, they are overpriced. Go to http://www.aimsurplus.com instead. They consistently undrrate their guns and I have never been disappointed with something I got from them.

$1600? Jeepers. Still saving up right now for either a .50 BMG or a .338 Lapua. I've got an Ar, need something longer range and heavier hitting.

I have that same rifle although mine was used and had no accessories. The bolt doesn't match but everything else does. Headspace is perfect.
I really like it. It is not the best made Mauser but is still well made. Shoots fine.
If you want a work of art, get any German made Mauser produced before WWI. I had an unfired 1909 Argentine made by DWM and the workmanship was off the scale. Absolutely unbelievable. Same goes for the 1895 Chilean and 1908 Brazilian although it is rare to find a really clean Brazilian one.

A friend got stuck on stupid one day and decided some blank powder he had removed from some cartridges looked a lot like BLC-2 and loaded a couple of 'light' loads for his Mauser. (A real no-no with any unknown powder).
To make a short story shorter, he destroyed the rifle, but the bolt held (fused into the action, as a matter of fact). Luckily, the floor plate blew out the bottom of the action, and he only got a couple of bits of brass in his forehead.
Now the rifle is a poster child for hunter safety, emphasizing that you should only reload with known components, but the fact that that rifle is as well designed and built as it is may well have saved his life.
(He has sworn he will never do that again!)

That's an FN FiveseveN? I'm reading Clancy's "Splinter Cell" right now. Ok book, but that's the weapon the main character uses.

I think a semi-pistol version would be very sporty, but I suppose BATF would have a fit about a bistol with a built-in buttstock.

UG! Glad he didn't get seriously hurt! Go to Eaker's website and check out the M-1 that he BLEW up!
I've reloaded for over 20 years now, and fortunately (thank God!) I've never been injured, never blown anything up, and never even caused any damage due to my own lack of attention.
Anyway, about a year ago I went searching for recipes for sub-sonic .308 Win ammo, and after two weeks of coming up with NOTHING other than manufactures and ballisticians who didn't want to talk about it, I decided it must be black magic and I just decided to drop the idea.
But I didn't, and so me and my reloading helper cooked up a sub-sonic .308 Win round. In the end, it proved sub-sonic, safe, and EFFECTIVE at 100 yards. But we tested it with an old Spanish M-96 Mauser and we duct taped it to a couple of tee posts and fired it from 50 feet away behind a barrier with a piece of string! We video taped it so we could watch what happened.
Blowing up guns rates down there on my least favorite things to do. :-)

I understand the caution. Thankfully, the worst I have done is squibbed a 120 gr round ball load in a super Blackhawk. I heard the squib (it sounded like a slide whistle) and didn't follow up with another round) so no harm done to the pistol..
You wouldn't want to freep mail me that subsonic .308 load by any chance? That could be handy...

I heard the squib (it sounded like a slide whistle) and didn't follow up with another round) so no harm done to the pistol.. I managed to fire off a squib in the middle of a stage at the PA State IDPA Match last summer.
I immediately fired another round which cleared the stoppage. (At that point, I was unaware I had fired a squib and thought I had just had a light strike)
I ended up with a bulge/ring in the barrel which I have since replaced for around $200.
Sigh.
Ooops, nearly forgot the gun porn. (My S&W 625, sporting the barrel I had cut down to 4" to replace the one I screwed up.)
