We discuss the negative side of the entertainment industry a lot on FR. Strange as it may seem, AI represents the positive side. It's mostly clean, old-fashioned fun. Talent contests go back a long, long way in American pop culture, and AI is nothing but a 21st century version of an old-fashioned talent contest.
Not only is AI mostly clean and fun, but it has proven to be a pretty powerful antidote to the ugliness that is modern urban music. Like the Golden Globes and the Oscars, the upcoming Grammys will celebrate and reward the urban garbage, but young, fresh talents from AI like Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood and Josh Gracin are selling like hotcakes and are helping to reintroduce pre-teens and teens to melody, good lyrics and fun songs.
