FR Prayer Warriors, please pray for a woman named Ana Alston. She is a young woman (30ish) who has a disease cauled schleroderma. It is a disease that causes hardening of the skin and soft tissues of the body and can affect the internal organs. She went into the hospital this morning with excruciating pain. She is in so much pain all she can do is lay there and cry. Please lift her up to the Lord for healing. She is a Christian.Thank you.

I have a friend who suffers from this. One thing that has apparently helped a lot is to work hard at avoiding glutens in her diet. Your friend might benefit from this as well. (See, e.g., here.)

This is a terrible and painful condition. She certainly has my prayers.

There is an online support group for scleraderma patients...it can be Googled.

Yes, I've heard of great success with diet change. Actually, I know there are quite a few autoimmune diseases that are being studied with diet as a main factor in recovery. I don't know why more doctors don't investigate this angle.

The reason why doctors don't investigate diet as a key to recovery is because they aren't taught it. Medical schools are largely funded by the pharmaceuticals, and if it can't be patented they don't want to know about it.
Prayer: "Father, have mercy on Your daughter Ana and take away this pain. Let her find the healing that she needs, and if it has to do with what she is eating as has been suggested in this thread, lead her to the diet that You will use to bring her out of this. In Jesus Name we pray, Amen."

thank you very much for your prayers. My friend is home from the hospital but without any real relief. She sees her own doctor hopefully tomorrow. I will tell her about the support group and about looking into diet changes. Thank you all soooo much.
Prayers up here in Jesus' Name for your friend, for relief from her pain, and also for guidance to diet or whatever it may be that will help to bring a cure, not just a suppression of the symptoms. May she have abundant grace and peace in the midst of all of this.
