A COLOMBIAN man accidentally shot his nephew to death while trying to cure his hiccups by pointing a revolver at him to scare him, police in the Caribbean port city of Barranquilla said today.
After shooting 21-year-old university student David Galvan in the neck, his uncle, Rafael Vargas, 35, was so distraught he turned the gun on himself and committed suicide, police said.
The incident took place on Monday while the two were having drinks with neighbours.
Mr Galvan started to hiccup and Vargas, who works as a security guard, said he would use the home remedy for hiccups of scaring him.
He pulled out his gun, pointed it at Mr Galvan and it accidentally went off, witnesses told local television.
"They were drinking, but they were aware of what was going on," one witness said.
That's what I figured.
Que?
He cured the hiccups....
...but the patient died.
Well, he cured the hiccups.
Darwin award by proxy.
Drunk doesn't mean you have no imagination!
He won't get the hiccups again for a long time.
Two questions:
1. When you're trying to scare the hiccups out of someone, what caliber is recommended?
2. When you're trying to hit a targe while you have hiccups, do you aim above or below the target?
3.Hold muh....
Oh how sad....and incredibly stupid.
LOL!!!
"I'm too stupid to live" Ping!
Holy moly!
What happened to the paper bag trick?
or plastic bag if they're drunk?
A "boudoir" photo of Squantos would .........
....well it would ...... prolly
.... do the same thing ......
...never mind.
It would cure the hiccups according to humblegunner!!
Be aware that while death from this can occur,it is rare.
Hysterical blindness can also be a side effect but it is only slightly more common than death.
well, the choice of jewelry was a nice touch anyway... .
Well, I reckon you'd aim low on the hic, and high on the up!!
What a couple of loons...
hick up ping
