Invasion of Iran is not an option, despite Newt Gingrich's comparason of the Iran leader to Hitler and this situation to 1935 !
Iran has a population of 67 million, half of whom are under the age of 20- that is infantry age !

8/10th who hate their Govt. Sorry but I STRONGLY suggest you leave the Military Strategy to the pros since you have demonstrated you are completely unqualified to render any serious judgment on the matter.

And many most of which (at least if intellignece is to be believed - admittedly a big "if"), probably wouldn't fight for their current regime.
"Supposedly" there's a strong undrucurrent there among the young to overthrow the Islamic regime.

We really only want the oil anyway (and stop them from setting up a Euro Bourse), and as our experience with the Shah after WWII and more recetnly the religious right wingers shows, the country as a whole appears to be allergic to Democracy.
so why not just pay the big bucks to have a junta take it over and keep the oil flowing?

Nearly all the people in Iran of Infantry age are pro-American.

Jew York City...
How nice. With its large number of blacks, I wonder what your pet name for New Orleans would be...

Too bad the original post has been taken down. It was classic jackass stuff. "Jew York City" and references that New York getting nuked would be a good thing were classic stupid.

I don't buy that for one second - I wouldn't call them pro-American, I would call many of them anti-current Iranian government, which could mean that because we share a mutual enemy, they may view us as allies, but pro-American...I'm sure there are a lot, but not that many.
I do think that places like Iran and Cuba, if you could put a few well-placed warheads into their governments/governing structures, that the people might rise up.
We just don't have the manpower to go the ground route though.
