Maybe now they will change their name to the Robodudes since the city is no longer in the steel business? According to the WSJ Pittsburgh steel has been replaced by robotics as the major industry?????

Yes, the ads were completely and entirely lame. It was lamer than any other year by a factor of at least 3.

Let me first say that I'm not a Seahawks fan. I'm a Cowboys fan so I have no love for Seattle or any other NFC team. But this was the worst officiated game I can remember in a SB. This was arguably worse than the Patriots/Raiders game when the refs sodomized the Raiders in the closing minutes so that the Patriots could 'come back' and win. Seattle had one TD taken away (even the ESPN guys unaminously agreed that wasn't a penalty), they had a phantom holding call after a catch on the PITT 1 yrd line. And even on the one INT that Hassleack threw, they tacked on 15 yards when the SEA QB had the audacity to try to tackle the runner. I was half-expecting the MVP trophy to go to the back judge. If the PITT fans can come up with any plays where they think they were hosed, I'd like to know. But I can see at least 6 plays which the SEA fans could point to which where either drive killers or took points off the board.

This was really a shame because Seattle pretty much did what they wanted to do to Pittsburgh tonight and this should have been a 3 point game the entire time. Seattle made some just unbelievable unforced errors on top of it all like missing two field goals and throwing TD passes a yard out of bounds which could have made this game so lopsided that even a ref on the take couldn't have changed the outcome. If I were the Seahawks owner, I would be asking for the league office to publicly explain how exactly these calls where made. The league apologize to PITT for the blown INT in the Indy game (because PITT ultimately won and it was a no harm/bad call situation).p> It is very suspicious that everybody in the English speaking world (who doesn't live in Seattle) was backing the Steelers. And even with that the line was only 4 1/2 points. It just seemed that despite the Seahawks being clearly able to handle things on offense and defense and yet they still had the game called as though they were accidently successful. Roethlisberger had one big pass and it was a broken play. His big plays came on scrambles when the SEA secondary had him stymied (but props to him for his rushing). Hines (whom I like a lot) made the one big play in the passing game by bailing out that 3rd & 28. And the one single running play which actually worked was designed as a 3 yard dive which miraculously went for 78 yards.

If I'm a Pittsburgh fan, I'm thanking God and Pete Tagliabue right now. But Pittsburgh is a classy franchise and has some great people (other than Joey Porter who is talented but a neanderthal) and this couldn't have fallen into the laps of a better group of people. Enjoy.

Yes, the ads were a disappointment.
The game was okay.
The better team won.

Three dropped passes by Stevens and two trick plays by the Steelers were key factors in the Seahawks' loss.

LOL - The ball did not break plane and you know it. Even Madden said that was not a hold, or did you miss that? How about the ghost push-off to negate a touchdown by Seattle? Steve Young was all over that. How about Hasselbeck's "block" below the knees when he tackled the guy? lol

Worst officiating ever. And the Seahawks were still in the game.

They were all lame including the FedEx ad, (wow, what an original punch line - "FedEx hasn't been invented yet" - LAME-O!,) but there was an animated ad, I don't remember for who, that looked so creative and expensive to make, I thought it was a preview of some movie.

Let's look at this a second...The ad of the advertiser whose name you remember was in your opinion no good and the ad of the advertiser whose name you can not remember you liked.

Somehow I don't think you quite get the idea.

The MSN homepage has all the ads listed, and you can watch them and vote for your favorite ones.

It really looked as if Big Ben hit his knees before the ball crossed the plain. That's the way it looked to me, but I was rooting for the Steelers.

They have played the best ball in these playoffs.

I was noncommital going into the Playoffs, since the Packers weren't there, but I sure loved watching the Steelers play darn good football down the stretch.

Congrats Steelers.

Why is everyone tripping over the refs? Seattle made some dumb penalties.

It came down to one trick play that decided and won the game - and oh what a beautiful play it was!!!!

Seattle had, I think one good play, but for the most part they severely stunk up the field tonight.

Actually, considering the touchdown that was overruled, and the non-touchdown that was called a touchdown, the score was actually 14-14. Where's the overtime?

Actually, considering that the refs apparently had money on the Steelers, I'm surprised that it was as close as it was. It could be because the Steelers just outright sucked for most of the game but managed to make TWO good plays and they capitalized on them big time.

Me: "The Seahawks are dominating this game in everything but the score."
Bro-in-Law: "The score's the only thing that matters and they got the points didn't they?"
Me: "No, the ref gave them the points."

My wife's happy though. Thanks to the "touchdown", she had the halftime numbers.

Worst officiating ever - agreed! At least three of the calls were outrageous - I quit counting after awhile. It's obvious who the refs wanted to win.

It was hard to tell.

Either way, it started slow, and turned into a great game!

"Frankly, with my beloved Redskins sitting at home watching as I was, I was just hoping for a good, well played game and instead, IMNSHO, got to see one of the most blatant examples at "game-influencing" I've seen in ANY sport ... including the WWF."

Agree 100%, and I am a fan of neither team. I also used the WWF example on another thread becaus ethat is exactly wht the NFL is. I'm not sure if I willcontinue waching it. I don't watch nearly as much as I used to because of stuff like this.

If it was switched to automated, computerized officiating, sports would be boring and we'd all be drinking beers watching horseshoes and dog shows.

Too true. It's only a game.

Cheers!
