By the mere fact that Hollywood gushes that "BM" is "a blockbuster" should immediately dismiss "Hollywood" as being the land of not only nonsense that it is but outright propoganda that many withhold rightly naming it as.
"BM" is no more "blockbuster" than "Howard the Duck" was.
Let's see...for a whole year homosexuals were SURE that white orchids were just the thing and that "no home is complete without them!" I think "BM" is about the same degree of nonsense.

Bernard assures us that "the closest Ennis gets to acknowledging his feelings is when he doubles over and wretches," which begs the question of what real "primal need," when satisfied, makes a man wretch. Maybe this is the gay equivalent to smoking a cigarette...?

"brief, violent, loveless episode of half-naked wrestling and fistfights." One also wonders how fistfights and half-naked wrestling amount to a "tender moment."
In other more rational words, rape! It's NOT about love! And no mention of the sin of adultery either, or of betrayal or selfishness. No what about the kids, what about the wife.
This is NOT about the "cowboy way" It's yet another attempt to packaging sodomy into a pretty package with a glittery bow. And it falls poorly short.
Proponents of this movie have asked folks who won't go see it, "what do you think is going to happen to you if you go see this movie"? As if that has anything to do with it. Who, as a rational, or even semi rational person, would pay money to see a movie that even makes one of the stars hurl?? Last time I checked, movie going is for entertainment. People will go to movies they want to see, for entertainment value. This garbage does not qualify. Nor for that matter does most of what hollywood puts out these days.

Oh, give me a home where the drag queens roam
Where the queers and the deviants play
Where seldom is heard a heterosexual word
And the guys are now horny all day
Homo, homo on the range
Where the queers and the deviants play
Where seldom is heard a heterosexual word
And the guys are now horny all day

"Because these are not equated with raw masculinity" And homosexuals are not. It is an obvious ploy.
There is nothing redeeming or romantic to me about the film, quite the contrary, and I wouldn't go to see it if you paid me.

The best article I've read about this steaming pile dressed up as a movie.
To: tuffydoodle
sad sad cartoon, but thats exactly what those involved w/the movie/agenda want.
Great article. Hits the nail on the head.
Joe Williams, St. Louis Post Dispatch: "No mainstream movie has ever made [homosexual sodomy] seem more manly.... They make love the cowboy way, grappling and wrangling each other like livestock. It is simply one of the greatest love stories in film history."
That is a sick demented statement, one of the greatest love stories in film history!!?? What they heck are they thinking about. People need to be aware of whats happening, while homosexuality was taken off of the mental disorder list now homophobia is being put on. So because I have an aversion to homosexual things that means I can be sentenced to an institution?
One poster here said it was not homophobia(because that is fear of people like you) it is homoaversion, which I am a proud practitioner of.

Can anybody give me a cure for "homophobia"?
I think I've got a terminal case.

Bi....
It's not true either you do or you don't....
One to two percent men in all societies are gay...most cultures have a way for them to live without disrupting the rest of society...(Hairdressers, entertainment, etc)
But when there are no women, men will turn to other ways of sexual release...so you hear stories about army barracks, ships, prisons, monasteries, boarding schools etc...
And the jokes about shepherds and the sheep are probably ancient...

The article is interesting, I'll grant you that.
But Brokeback Mountain remains one of the best films I've seen in years.

Most every man is capable of taking the situation in hand, if you get my drift. His own hand. Anything else is a decision as well. You either do or you don't.
