My 2006 predictions are now up. My blog, No Runny Eggs, goes into detail over the course of several posts, but here's the recap:

Thank you sir! I am in!

I have some serious homework to figure out who the new team & driver combinations are.

I would bet Hamlin & Waltrip do significantly (5+ places) better than those predictions.

Busch will perform community service, which will be determined in the near future.

He's lucky Sheriff Arpaio doesn't make him wear pink underwear and live in a tent.

The Sam's club in Fayetteville ( Georgia) is trying to get a license to sell liquor.

As part of that promotion Wal-Mart is going to roll out a new brand of
wine. The world's largest retail chain is teaming up with E&J Gallo
Winery of California, to produce the spirits at an affordable price,
in the $2-$5 range.

Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to throw a bottle of Wal-Mart
brand into their shopping carts, but "there is a market for cheap
wine", said Kathy Micken, director of marketing.
She continued:

"But the right name is important." Customer surveys were conducted to
determine the most attractive name for the Wal-Mart brand.

The top surveyed names in popularity are:

10. Chateau Traileur Parc

 9. White Trashfindel

 8. Big Red Gulp

 7. World Championship Riesling

 6. NASCARbernet

 5. Chef Boyardeaux

 4. Peanut Noir

 3. I Can't Believe It's Not Vinegar!

 2. Grape Expectations

And the number 1 name for Wal-Mart Wine...

  1. Nasti Spumante

The beauty of Wal-Mart wine is that it can be served with either
white meat (Possum), or red meat (Squirrel).

Hey Tork, wanna split a bottle of #6 for the Shootout?

from Nascar.com

PHOENIX -- Kurt Busch was ordered Wednesday to perform 50 hours of community service as part of a plea agreement over a reckless driving citation he received near Phoenix International Raceway.

His lawyer, Lee Stein, said his client admitted to speeding, a misdemeanor, and two civil citations: following too closely and passing in a no-passing zone. In exchange, the reckless driving charge was dropped. The community service must be completed within a year, Stein said. Busch also paid $580 in court fines.

The floor's yours.

I'll stand by my Mikey out of the top 35 prediction. He's a 3rd-rate driver that's now in 5th-rate equipment. BDR may have given him their "best" stuff (relatively-speaking, they haven't had support from Dodge for a couple years now) had he not formed his alliance with Doug Bawel to get his 5-race guarantee, but between that and losing big in their lawsuit against Dodge (DaimlerChrysler will be getting its $6.5 million request for breach of contract; more on that shortly), they're going to do everything they can to keep the #22 above water until Toyota rides to the rescue, even if that means sinking the #55. I'll note that Mikey was the slowest guy in Vegas, and he wasn't quite the slowest guy there while he was with DEI.

Hamlin was a bit harder to place. On one hand, the best JGR equipment is better than the best DEI or RCR equipment. On the other, they can't seem to run more than one top team; and the top dog is Stewart.

Was about to ask what happened to Red Label Thunderbird.
Good cheap buzz, but that was many years ago. ;)

Take 2 on the Dodge v BDR lawsuit news (had to edit out some Gannett comment) -

Jayski is reporting that Dodge won its lawsuit against Bill Davis Racing to the tune of $6.5 million.
