No possums so far, but then I haven't gotten much unpacked yet. You just never know where Darks a possum might turn up.

" If.... If... you were able to actually get up in time to drive back to MH and work today..."

Oh, I did, but I was pretty much worthless all day. Got about 2 hours sleep, woke up with a migraine. Finally broke down and took an Imitrex around 11:30. Got rid of the headache, but I was spacey and disoriented all day. Got some bad news on the way back about one of my cases, then had to come back here to get the truck unloaded and returned. I have to get up again in the morning and drive to Yellville. I have a class until 3:30, then I have to go back to the office in MH and try to get a little more done that should've been done today. Start the new job on Monday, but will still have to spend 2 or 3 more days in MH to get stuff in the office wrapped up there.

I don't know what I'm running on, but it isn't drive. I'm exhausted and all I want to do is sleep...for about 12 hours. I'm absent-minded, spaced out and grouchy...and it's a full moon. But at least it didn't rain.

"Any update on his condition ?"

He got to call his dad today. He is doing pretty well. Thanks for asking...and for the passing on prayer requests.

You're trying to confuse me, aren't you? It's pretty easy to do the past few days.

I gotta go to bed before I fall into a coma. Night, Nully. Sweet dreams.

But the policy has "really upset a lot of a people," said Brad Baldia of Day Without An Immigrant, a coalition of immigrant groups.

There is a cure for this "upset" feeling: Learn to speak English. If I can learn to say "tortilla" and "guacamole" then surely the "upset" people can manage to say "cheesesteak." Heck, on a good day I can even say "croissant" although it pains me to do so.

Good. Please keep us updated, and if possible pass on the message that we are all pulling for him.

Bah. We should all learn to speak Spanish.

How hard can it be? Mexicans can speak it...

"Heck, on a good day I can even say "croissant" although it pains me to do so."

Yes, but do you say it with that little semi-nasal grunt? That is essential, you know, especially when you order it with your latte.

That is my one big concern with the job in the new location. Most of the county is nice, but there is one town that houses a Tyson plant. That is the armpit of the county. Driving though some areas down there, you'd think you were in an urban ghetto. Illegals have trashed an otherwise beautiful little town. Even the closest Walmart, which used to be one of the nicest in the state, has deteriorated significantly, and there is nearly a whole isle where everything is in Mexican Spanish.

I was coming out of there the other day and there was this one greasy looking Mexican thuling around in a brand new shiny red car, blasting the most obnoxious music noise you ever heard. I'm thinking, "here's this guy getting a bank loan for a car that is probably being paid for by taxpayers while he's sending all his earned, and unclaimed, income back to Mexico. He's cashing in on the what used to be the American dream. Only problem is, he's stealing it from Americans by robbing us of our culture by impudently imposing his on us."

I am afraid that the first time I get sent out to investigate a family who is clearly illegal, I will lose the ability to demonstrate my usual fairness and compassion. It is a matter of conscience for me. Unless I am on stage, I am incapable of pretending to be something I'm not. I can be objective in most situations, but I'm afraid this may not be one of them.

Wake up, Nully! Darks, unhand that possum and quit trying to scare that poor lady. It's coffee time!

I spent the first 45 minutes I was up plundering through boxes trying to find the coffee filters. I had left out enough to get me through the move, but I neglected to consider that it might be a few days before I got to them in the unpacking, so I used the last one day before yesterday. I know you feel my pain.
