Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Tell him I hope he's enjoying Washington. And that the spider plant is getting big enough to eat again if he should ever be in town.

Good morning, Ruthy!
I went to Goodwill yesterday and bought Matthew a new pair of plain gray athletic shorts and a gray Eskimo Joe tee-shirt. Normally he wears his "Arthur Dent" costume around the house, but it's really better suited for cool mornings and it's just getting too warm for it.
So I got him this to lounge around the house in and he loves it! It's like the best thing I've done for him in a long time...and the whole thing cost me $4!
Sometimes I just do something right.

Good morning...my Florida cousin has wireless :) :) :)
I think I'm caught up...
Sunday: Church with eldest aunt and cousins, then movement to Fort Wilderness and set up two tents and related frap; then throw the kids in the pool, pull 'em out, dry 'em off and show them Bambi on a big screen.
Monday: Magic Kingdom... kids favorites were rides with "mountain" in the name: Space, Splash and Thunder RR.
Tuesday: EPCOT... kids preferred the fountains to any ride. Video link may be available in a week or so after I get home.
Wednesday: MGM (Tower of Terror! Except for the boy...) and Animal Kingdom (Mount Everest! which is new and is a wild rolliecoaster with extra Yeti peril)
Today is a day of rest and laundry, and tomorrow we're back to the Magic Kingdom for pickups and reshoots :) And then the long trek home.
Probably not much more FReeping until after Sunday.
Laters y'all :)

Here's a picture of Steve teaching Joshua how to cut the greens off a radish. The knife is very sharp so that's why the close supervision. After he was done, he fed the greens to the chickens.

More pictures of the garden here. Check out my plants and pea trellis!

Why, because of the brown grass? That's it's normal dormant color. It'll green back up. You can't kill the stuff. It's bermuda, I think it's called. Even after it catch
Even the grass fires can't kill it! No kidding, it'll be completely black, then grow back!
