Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Through shadows to the edge of night
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

OK - Rosie's compound fence is essentially done. She's got to got around and put some more of the clips on the posts where needed, but the posts are all in, the wire's all up, and the gates are on.
Here's the little gate she'll use between us.
This is through that gate looking right, to her driveway gate.

And this is looking down the fenceline to the left of the little gate.

This is looking from the front driveway gate area to the back.

Back corner

Looking across to other back corner.

Doggies playing :~D

Cisco getting left behind when we went home :~(

Then all he has to do is appear in front of a judge to be sworn at...er in...Wha? I don't think the kids up here have to do anything like that. Clare just did her Driving Test and the Trooper stamped it approved. Of course that turned out not to have done the trick. She still had to go back last week because she'd never received the license. Turns out, since we'd cancelled the Driving test the first time, after the bottle fell on her toe, they had charged us for it, and that was holding up the release of the license. We had paid for it the second time, but of course no one ever told US that there was a hold up!. Clare just happened to look at the back of the permit, that the Trooper had stamped, and it said it expired 30 days from the date of approval. She'd been driving around illegally for two months! She had just started to wonder what was taking so long! Good think she checked it out!

'Zat what we're calling it now?
I just have to remember how glad and grateful I am that they're letting me do this... in mid-August when I'm ready to kill my sisters and haven't been able to have a shower without someone banging on the door for three months and I'm ready to kill the next brother who asks me to take them to the park when I want to read a book...

Great looking fence, there! Does Cisco like his compound? Looks like he and Homer are having fun!

Heh...also they can kinda see what I mean about the "lawn". ;-)
I love my fence! Nice to be able to just walk out with Cisco and not worry about a leash or anything...not to mention it's nice knowing there's a fence between me and the outside world here.
In other news...apparently the lock on my van's back door is busted. Leastways I can't get the door to open. At least it happened now and not a month ago...
To: RosieCotton
Bummer... Not sure who to recommend to take it to for something like that. Maybe the dealer. Or a body shop.

Frustrating...it just feels like the key won't quite turn all the way. I can still get the window in the back open, which is enough for groceries...but not at all convenient for dog food or potting soil or other big heavy things.
