Shocking to me that Kellie is #1.

But it's just an Internet poll. The Kellie-bots probably "freeped" it :)

I'd like to hear Taylor sing Seven Spanish Angels.

That is a fantastic song. And Taylor could do it, too.

How is it possible to be with Teri Hatcher ... and still look gay?

LOL! Ryan sure isn't what I'd call the rugged type, is he. He also looks like he was freezing cold. Our weather has been below normal for L.A. this time of year. It's been raining and temps have been in the low to mid 50's during the day. With the wind off the Pacific, it had to be really chilly during their walk on the beach.

Not enough background in the pics to be sure where they were, but it looks like they stopped for the photo shoot along Pacific Coast Highway (we call it PCH) between Malibu and Santa Monica. The stretch I'm thinking of, parking is high off the beach, and it's wide open. Not much shelter. So it had to be really cold (or what passes for really cold here). I'll bet with the wind-chill and all, it probably felt like temps in the high 40's.

The point of all this prattle is to say that they didn't go out there with a horde of media just for jollies. They had both print and TV media there, BTW. Question is, what was the point of the whole exercise?

Let's hope so. She's showing up at the top of too many lists. I hope Gherkin does 'Redneck Woman' next week. That will really torque Simon' shorts.

I doubt they could get the rights to it, but I'd love it if Taylor sang the latest Brooks & Dunn hit 'Believe.' It's currently #10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. The way Brooks & Dunn do it, the song needs a strong, melodic male voices, and only Taylor has shown he has the vocal chops to pull it off.

Yeah, but I bet if you needed a tow or a jump in the parking lot you would have no problem finding help. ;-)

Don't you know it!

So much for Paula being replaced. Yeah!, I'm happy!

Abdul Signs New 'American Idol' Contract
Mar 29, 5:14 PM EST

The Associated Press

Paula Abdul has decided she can continue to put up with Simon Cowell on "American Idol."

Abdul, who shares judging duties on Fox's hit talent show with Cowell and Randy Jackson, has signed a deal to remain for another three years, the network announced Wednesday.

She and Cowell are known for their bickering on the program, which is drawing bigger audiences than ever in its fifth edition. While Cowell often slams contestants, Abdul takes a gentler approach in her comments.

The contestants "truly inspire and amaze me each week," Abdul said in a statement. "Of course, I also look forward to putting Simon in his place for years to come."

Cowell and Fox reached a deal in November that will keep the British record executive and TV producer on the show for at least five more seasons.

Abdul is a singer and a movie, TV and stage choreographer who has worked with Janet Jackson, George Michael and Prince.

"American Idol" is paring the finalists down to the winner, who will be announced on the May 24 finale.

Isn't it the other way around? :)

But I'm glad she's staying. As nutty as she is, the show wouldn't be as entertaining without her.

Agree. The show will jump the shark once they start to change to original line-up.

But right now it isn't broke, and so it shouldn't be fixed.

Question is, what was the point of the whole exercise?

I was flipping through the channels last night and there was Seacrest on the Tonight Show.

I only caught the very end of the interview so I don't know what was said or why he was there. I assume he was promoting Idol, but that task is usually assigned to one of the judges, isn't it? I've never seen Seacrest interviewed alone like this.

Looks like he's doing the full media-blitz for some reason.

Maybe they could fix Paula a little bit so she doesn't ramble on about Corn Flakes and pizza :)

Watching the local FOX news--they're showing a long piece about the Gherkin: "Is Kellie 'Putting On The Ditz'?"

The conclusion is yes :)
