Help! Is there an honest Web Host?

Posted on 03/24/2006 10:41:10 PM PST by Quixotical

Can someone please tell me what company is a GOOD web host. There are 5 billion and I need a decent one. I am looking for a $7 to $10 shared hosting plan.

Any suggestions?

I've already canceled one plan because the support was lacking.

while not the greatest host ever, I user www.lunarpages.com.

Shrug, after 2 years, I have some comlaints. Those complaints aren't a big deal. I've tried other services and not really been happy.

Let me second http://www.pair.com/

Fast connections to just about everyone, extremely low downtime, and I've been a very pleased customer for over six years.

I use ADDR.Com for several accounts. No problems so far and resonable cost. 24/7 tech support.

Ipower

Aplus.net

I have used both for years for myself and for clients. Both are rock solid. I like the support at Ipower better because they are Americans living right here in Phoenix, so I can understand them.

with ipower do you have to buy a separate package in order to get a webpagebuilder or does it come with the hosting package. They look separate, im confused.

I don't know about the $3.95 site, but it definitely comes with the $7.95 site (I resell those to my clients). You might want to give them a call to find out for sure.

Of course, any "web builder" you get with any hosting service will be limited. If you are setting up a serious web site for a business or organization, they are only a temporary measure, and eventually you will need the services of a professional web designer.

I've been using www.apollohosting.com for a couple years and am very satisfied. Their live chat tech support has been very helpful.
