Funniest scene? The chase at the end of "Seven Chances," Buster Keaton's brilliant 1925 comedy. He's running for his life, trying to escape hundreds of women who want to marry him for his money.

The film is less than 70 minutes long, and at the end, I was laughed out -- I was so tired of laughing, I didn't want to laugh any more.

For those who can't bear watching black and white, the opening was shot in 2-strip Technicolor.

Buster Keaton in "Safety Last"

Keaton is trying to help his friend evade a cop.

To do this he writes "eM kciK" in white chalk on a wall.

When the cop approaches Keaton to ask where his friend is, he backs the cop into the wall so that the chalk gets on the back of the cop's dark colored uniform.

A minute later the cop approaches the town drunk, who then starts kicking the cop...so the cop is then occupied with the drunk who is kicking him.
