To: Lazamataz
A few years ago I lost about 30 pounds at the insistence of my Cardiologist.I tried a combination of Atkins and brisk walking and the pounds just flew off of me,particularly the first 20 or so.

I was amazed by how easy Atkins was for me,a guy who once took carbs intravenously,to stick to.But then,my doctor did a good job of motivating me.

Then my hip went bad about a year ago and the weight I lost is back.

Talk about depressing!

The moral of the story? Atkins works when combined with regular exercise.

Time to get that looked at! My uncle (only 7 years older than me.....and that keeps you well under retirement age!) had a bad hip and a serious weight problem. He had to lose a good amount of weight (around 25 pounds) to allow the surgery, then had the hip replaced. Since then, he's back to walking and has dropped another 45 pounds. Drastic to have surgery, yeah, but....
