What a joke. The woman, according to the tests, DIDN'T EVEN HAVE SEX. Where's the crime?

"this case is not going away..."
I'm guessing a jury will have the last say on that, not you.

"No charges have been filed in the case, but Nifong has said he believes a crime occurred at the March 13 party, which according to court records was attended only by lacrosse players."
Sounds like the crime that occurred may have been on HER part. If that's the case, I certainly hope they file charges.

The crime is in the false allegations made by the complainant. She should be vigorously prosecuted.

What is going away is his reelection chances, he had a lot staked on the race card.

No, actually, DNA tests don't conclusively prove that, or that a crime didn't happen, but this sure doesn't help. The DA seems to be not entirely objective about this case, though. Just in the last few days, he promised that DNA would prove a crime.

A lot has been said in the press, particularly by some attorneys yesterday, that this case should go away," District Attorney Mike Nifong said at a community forum. "My presence here means that this case is not going away." Of course it's not going away. The feminazi's and race pimps have had a field day persecuting the guys on the Lacrosse Team and now that they've got their teeth in they don't want to let go. Sheesh...

"The fact is that this case is proceeding the way a case should proceed," Nifong said to applause. That's the problem. It's beginning to look as though this is not about the Duke University Lacross players. It's about an existent racial tension in Durham and the DA is exploiting it to win re-election.
To be fair, I still don't know what happened that evening. Until now, it seemed to me something may have happened, but now I wonder. But whether it did or not, this case, or lack thereof, should NEVER had been in the media like this. This DA has now trapped himself and he really has to prosecute it or totally lose all credibility--and the next election. If he prosecutes and loses, he can blame it on the jury.
The president of Duke University ought to resign for not supporting his institution. He's behaved shamefully. What a dreadful president.

ANOTHER STUPID DA...sounds kinda like Fitz...no case but lets spend taxpayers money and continue to move forward...he likes all the attention?
the gal came in with injuries...no DNA match....sounds like she got mad at these guys...and so she accused them of gang rape...NO evidence this accusation is true whatsoever...what's with this DA anyway

This clown made his announcement at a political rally for black Democrats. If that doesn't disqualify him from this case -- and from the bar -- I don't know what does.

Just in the last few days, he promised that DNA would prove a crime. He was right - it proved slander on the part of the woman.

He is in to deep.He should have kept his yap shut until all the facts were in.He smelled blood and went after it.As a 'DA',he should know better than anyone that a man is innocent until proven guilty. He swapped his better judgment for a few brownie points in the press. They may be guilty, who knows.Putting them on trial in the press is not the way to go about it.I would be willing to bet,a few of their parents have a few bucks to throw down on him.He better have a good case.I doubt he will get reelected no matter which side is up.Just speculating. The girl probably looks like McKinney's twin sister!

I'm a little hesitant to post this but I have some experience in this. I ran a night club and we would on occasion get strippers to perform. They work for a set fee (paid before they begin their act) and work for tips. The rules of engagement are made by them or their escorts. What can and can not be done. "Strippers" that get $ 400 each plus tips in a rural area are very well paid. The age of the strippers at this price would have been in low 20's and very good looking. For older less beautiful women if they were hired, a lesser fee would have been appropriate. unless "other" services were expected. The only other possibility would be that the players were duped by promises of younger girls. Sorry but women much older than their audience (the girl is 27) are never hired for pure entertainment. These "girls" were there to do more than stripping or lap dancing.

What is he doing? Is he crazy? This was an after-thought set-up to extort money from these students and nothing more. They ought to sue her for defamation and the DA ought to bring charges of false reporting. Absurd. Obscene. Ridiculous.

The actual crime committed is by that lying blk female. She should be charged with a crime. Then the young men accused of gang rape should file a suit against her. She has NO money or assets but a point needs to be made bigtime.

Doesn't the DA realize that if he were to Win this case in spite of the lqack of DNA evidence, he would be screwing up the chances of his "Brothers" getting out of prison based on any new analysis of DNA evidence that proves they were not the ones perpetrating the rape and/or murder?
He is playing with a Two Edged Sword here.
