I’m for outing Environmentalist Wacko’s whose anti-exploration, anti-drilling, and anti-American agenda is the real reason for today’s escalating Gas Prices! Surely they must be willing to pay more for gasoline to “Save The Environment!” Come on LIBS stand up and be counted – Put your money where your BIG Mouth is!

I Propose the following price structure:

Environmentalist Wacko’s $7.00 Per Gallon, Pro-Drilling Common Sense $1.50 Per Gallon

Does the president have the power to declare an emergency and open up drilling?

This morning Stupak, my congresscritter, appeared on C-Span and made the incredible statement that if we drilled for oil in Alaska, the Japanese would swoop in and buy the oil at twice the market rate. Therefore, his reasoning goes, we should not drill for oil because the Japanese will get it, not Americans.

Never underestimate the abject stupidity of the average American voter when it comes to the environment or economics.

oil company profits on 1 gallon of gasoline.. $.09-$.10

average taxes on 1 gallon of gasoline.. $.43-$.49

wondering why politicians are pointing crooked fingers at the evil big oil companies? Wondering why the hildebeast wants to TAX big oil companies (who will past that on to the consumer anyways...(remember the Valdez).
Ask yourself why they (the politicians) aren't going after BANKS,PHAMACUTICALS,and TECHNOLOGIES...all who have made more in profits than oil companies.....could it be the always easy to increase gasoline tax?. Listen to the "gawks" coming out of hillery...tax tax tax "gawk"..tax tax tax

Naah, I like the price structure just the way it is. It costs me about $US45 to fill up, then I get about 750 miles to the tank or about a month of errands. Will they - y'all - finally be happy when the price reaches European levels? Maybe we can then join the One World and pay in Euros.

Even if Bush had the authority to open up drilling today it would be years before the first barrel of oil was pumped out of the ground.

What I want to is who died, and gave the environmentalists the right to run America, and why we're not standing up to them?

Taxes only capture a bit of the profits made by all those who produce and refine, invest in, and deliver oil to the consumer. Removing the taxes would not be expected to affect the retail price of gasoline at the pump which is set by product demand. It would, however, allow cheaper gasoline be delivered to the pump. There is no guarantee that tax-free gasoline would be sold at a price below market value. In short, retail prices are set by market demands, not by the cost of getting the product to the consumer. Ex: Which ounce of gold would you sell cheapest, an ounce you purchased for $6.00 or the ounce you purchased for $600?

I am familiar with drilling. I want to brake the straggle hold on access to energy that the environmentalists have. This goes for refineries and Atomic power plants as well. Saying it takes a long time to bring in a well is like saying there is nothing we can do about any situation we find ourselves in.

I called My Senator's Office "Elizabeth Dole" and "Raymond Burr" they had no comment on why there was not a move within the Republican Party to authorize drilling/exploration.

I'm amazed that there is no outrage among the American people against the environmentalists who are truly at fault here. Hence the reason for my Post. How many environmentalists would pay extra to "Save the Planet?" I say not 1!

I just meant that it ain't gonna help us out today or next week.

Look, I've been working in nuclear power for 25 years. Had our industry not been attacked by the environmental wackos, the power generation mix in this country would probably be 50% nuclear (or more) instead of the approximately 20% that it is today.

Because of Bush, several utilities have begun the process of bringing new nuclear power plants on line, but it's still going to be 5+ years before the first one is connected to the grid.

here's something to consider
A local highway, RT206 here where I live, went under construction a few years back. The idea was to widen a section of the highway for a lenght of three a half miles.
No major structures to move, no mountains to dynamite, a widening project...moving telephone poles,regrading,repaving..3 1/2 miles. It took 4 yrs to complete...4 LONG,CONE DODGING,CONSTRUCTION HORSE WRANGLING,LANE MANUEVERING,UNEVEN PAVEMENT BOUNCING YEARS...

.....in November of 1932, they redirected the colorado river and in September of 1935, Teddy Roos dedicated the Hoover Dam.
So much for local state road funds

Always knew he was a remarkable man, but dedicating a dam after being dead for 15 years...wow!
