I hope this isn't the wrong place to put a vanity thread, if so I appologize.
I wonder of some of the more astute Freepers out there might help me find some links that detail the previous Supreme Court decision(s) which relate to the inherent presidential authority to collect intelligance such as the NSA wiretaps. (I believe it was during the Carter administration if I'm not mistaken that it happaned, and possible during FDR/WWII as well)
Also I'm looking for links that detail Bill Clinton's "carnivore" program, and, in aprticular, media reaction to it. (which I would like to compare to the current media reaction re: Bush's program)
I tried Google but keep coming up with a rehash of the same recent news stories when I do my search.
I don't expect anyone to spend all day searching but if someone has link to this material on hand and could post them real quick that would be apreciated.
I am curious about it myself, plus I have a liberal friend of mine to destroy whe he gets back from out of state. He's a good friend, so I'll take him down easy. ;-)
regards, Bones
