Mark Furman said (sarcastically) that Nifong needs to have a video of the rape itself, or he has nothing.

Did anyone see Wendy Murphy on Tucker Carslson's show? Heheh, I've never seen anyone look so venemous. She even blew Tucker a kiss at the end of interview, and not in a friendly way. She's lucky no one threw a bucket of water on her.

I wonder if all those bond reductions were all for women. Hmmm...

Well... he looks like Clinton, lies like Clinton, and panders to the same groups as Clinton. So I wouldn't bet against it.

Wendy Murphy should be cast as the lead in the next production of 'The Taming of the Shrew'. She w/n have to study up on the part.

I think Kimberly Gilfoil was told about information to be revealed shortly.

Kimberly Gilfoil did not change her opinion and attitude from any argument. She changed overnight because she saw something. That is what I think

if someone held Wendy Murphy to her statements, she would see the writing on the wall. she would this case for the shakedow n it is. It was all about money.

When someone on the networks (fox) is reporting on-air that she just happened to pick the 3 wealthiest guys on the team - the tide is turning. something is out there that hasn't been confirmed or reported: like Sean Hannity said, some thing big is about to come out.

Kimberly Gilfoil has reversed herself. Wendy will not. She mentioned the condoms, the date-rape drug, then the broomstick for 2 weeks. she even spoke of the terrible injuries the accuser had from the broomstick attack.
If someone on TV, just one, would say: Wendy how can you be so certain when you were so certain and so convinced, that on National TV, you repeatedly said she was ravaged with a broomstick. I would think you would be more reserved after being so wrong and so off-base just last week.

But just like Geraldo and Oreilly that said the soft rich white boys would cop a plea by the end of the week - and they never came back to take responsiblity or admit they were wrong. just move on and trash someone else.

From Seligman's attorney, Osborn, on filing the motion:

"If it's true that the district attorney doesn't have discovery of substance, then I want to know why, because certainly he should have what he relied on to get an indictment," Osborn said.

Lawyer urges accuser's kin to stop making statements

Joseph Neff and Samiha Khanna, Staff Writers

After almost daily appearances on national television, the family of the woman accusing three Duke lacrosse players of rape is being urged to take a lower profile.

The family has turned to local lawyer Mark Simeon, who said he plans on cutting off the family's frequent statements to the media and appearances on national television.

"It's created problems," Simeon said. "They have been inadvertently hurting their daughter."

Simeon has said that he would like to represent the accuser in any future civil litigation. However, he said, he has not spoken to the accuser.

He also represents Kim Roberts, the other dancer hired through an escort service to perform at the March 13 Duke University lacrosse party.

(snip)

At the family home Wednesday, the accuser's mother said she wasn't talking to the media anymore and referred all questions to Simeon. The family has not hired him officially but is consulting with him, the mother said.

Lots of attention

Since the investigation began, reporters have staked out the home to talk with the accuser's parents. Cameras from national television shows have shined a spotlight on the lives of a retired truck driver and his gray-haired wife.

On many occasions, the accuser's mother has tried to pull her husband inside their tiny house, telling him not to talk to the media.

The accuser's father has said that the publicity is weighing on his daughter. At one point, the woman threatened to drop the case if her family continued to talk to the media, he said.

But for several weeks, the accuser's father has made appearances on national talk shows. He has described injuries he says his daughter suffered on the night in question, spoken up for her credibility and given details of the alleged assault.

In some cases, the father has contradicted his own statements. The accuser's former husband, Kenneth McNeil, said earlier this month that he thinks the slip-ups are unintentional, a function of a man trying to help his daughter but with a memory not as sharp as it once was.

Before the Duke lacrosse case, Simeon was best known in Durham for making an unsuccessful run for district attorney in 2002.

Simeon agreed to represent Roberts, the second dancer, as an adviser and in any civil litigation that might stem from the lacrosse case.

Simeon wouldn't say what sort of lawsuit could be filed on Roberts' behalf. But he has said he also wants to represent the accuser in any lawsuit.

High-profile lawyer

In April, Simeon talked about putting together a trial team that would include Willie Gary, a lawyer from Florida who has won a number of multimillion dollar verdicts.

Last month, Gary traveled to the Triangle and spoke with the accuser's mother, but he has had no further contact with the family since then, said Kori Love, director of public relations for Gary's Stuart, Fla., firm.

"He's willing to help but will not be involved until he is asked directly by the young lady, the alleged victim," Love said in a telephone interview.

Simeon told Newsweek that his mother is "proud of me on TV, but she'd like to see that translated into something tangible. It's not so I can dress like a powerful lawyer. I've struggled since that last election."

Defense lawyers criticized the comments.

"I regret saying it," Simeon said.

Lawyers question dancer's plea deal in '02

By John Stevenson : The Herald-Sun
jstevenson@heraldsun.com
May 17, 2006 : 9:22 pm ET

EXCERPT

Meanwhile, a Durham County Sheriff's Office report -- reviewed four years ago by Sgt. T.H. McCrae and recently obtained by The Herald-Sun -- provides details of the 2002 car chase involving the alleged rape victim.

The incident began at a topless dance club while the woman was performing for a taxi driver, McCrae wrote.

"As she was feeling him up and putting her hands in his pockets she removed the keys to his taxi cab, without him knowing," the officer said. "He [the cabbie] told her he would drive her home but needed to go to the restroom first. While in the restroom he was advised that she was driving off in his taxi cab."

McCrae said he chased the woman at speeds up to 70 mph in a 55-mph zone until she finally stopped.

"As I began to approach the vehicle she put it in drive and drove towards me," McCrae added. "I jumped out of the way to the right and she missed me. The suspect then struck the right rear quarter of my patrol vehicle."

Another chase ensued, but the woman finally was apprehended after having a flat tire, according to McCrae.

The officer said she registered a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.19 on a portable sensing device -- more than double North Carolina's 0.08 legal threshold for impairment.

And while being questioned, the dancer "passed out and was unresponsive," McCrae said.

She was taken to the emergency room at Duke University Hospital, McCrae's report indicated.

On the night of the alleged rape, the woman was also described by an officer as being "passed out drunk" before being taken to the emergency room and saying she had been assaulted.

In connection with the 2002 incident, the woman was charged with felonious assault with a deadly weapon [the stolen taxi] on a government officer, felonious larceny and felonious possession of a stolen vehicle, felonious speeding to elude arrest, driving while impaired, driving with a revoked license, driving while left of center, ignoring an officer's blue lights and siren, reckless driving, driving the wrong way on a dual-lane highway, having an open alcoholic beverage container in the car, two counts of damaging personal property and resisting a public officer.

That's quite a list. Most folks take two or three separate incidents to rack up that many charges. That it only took one evening to garner so many charges is a testament to this womans pluck.

If I were the attorney for one of these defendants I'd be howling (sorry Howlin) for a trial to begin tomorrow. Justice delayed is justice denied.

Her mother can't change her looks so IMO that's just a bit out of bounds.

However her daughter can chose to cease being a cheap lying street hooker. I certainly hope she does so, and very soon.

If the Mother (as Gilfoil) said is pushing her to sign up with the Civil lawyer (the Giant Killer) that indicates they are going after big bucks and Duke too - maybe even Durham.
If you listen to Gilfoil on Hannity, it sounds like the Mother is involved.

Something has happened. The News Corpse has found out something that does not make them think there story will turn out to support their pre conceived notions of good and evil. The North Carolina News and Observer has relagated the duke articles to the SPORTS section!

I have read the North Carolina papers to follow this story and I this is the first time I seen this (in sports):

http://www.newsobserver.com/122/story/440843.html

in the other link with the mothers picture, how about where it says the daugther made 1400 bucks for the WHOLE year?
http://www.pretendpundit.com/2006/05/duke_rape_accus.html
that stinks. Her car insurance is more than that.

Hookers don't usually get 1099 forms and rarely declare all of their income to the IRS.

Kimberly Gilfoil did not change her opinion and attitude from any argument. She changed overnight because she saw something. That is what I think

I saw her opinion begin to change slowly over the last week, week and a half as the evidence began to mount in favor of the defendants. At least she has kept her mind open. That is her job now.
