How do you contact a moderator? Aside from posting useless vanities?

I made a screwup, and need to contact a moderator. A guy signed up with the screen name Dr. Richard Kimball. I posted to him, asking him to pick another name, as there might be confusion as to which of us had posted. He was very nice, and did. After making two posts with his new screen name, his privileges were revoked. I think it was because of signing up with multiple screen names.

I feel badly about it, because he seems like a nice guy, and I think I accidentally got him banned. Anyway, I didn't want to flag abuse, which is the only way I know to catch a mod's ear. I also wanted to publicly apologize to him for messing him up early in his freeping career.

Sorry!

Boy, talk about a stupid vanity. But it's the only way I know to publicly apologize and try to make it right.

This might get their attention. Or me banned, too. We'll find out.

You could try sending a FREEPmail to Jim Robinson. That'll do more, than this vanity will, since you never pinged any of the Mods to this thread.

I haven't tried the morderator, but have tried the moderator in the past. Never got a response. Hated to bug Robinson about it. He must feel like he's managing a kindergarten recess a lot of the time, anyway.

Is the Morderator a Lord of the Rings thing?

Dang, I was hoping that was a link to the secret underwold of FR moderators, and then found out it was just a graphic.

Think of it as more of a "locked door."

Reminds me of trying to get tech support from IBM. One of their choices was to "Press 9 and pound."

CALLING THE MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTE
Hello, and thank you for calling the Mental Health Institute

If you are obsessive-compulsive, press 1 repeatedly

If you have multiple personalities, press 2, 3 and 4.

If you suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder, press 5 but do it
v-e-r-y- s-l-o-w-l-y and carefully.

If you are dyslexic, press 6. Now press 9. Now press 6. Now press 9.
Now press 6.

If you are delusional, press 7 and your call will be transferred to the
mothership.

If you have short term memory loss, press 8. If you have short term memory loss, press 8. If you have short term memory loss, press 8.

If you have schizophrenia, listen very carefully and a small voice will tell you the number to press.

If you have a nervous disorder, fidget with the hash key until a
representative comes on the line.

If you are co-dependent, ask someone to press a number for you.

If you are depressed, don't bother to press any numbers. No one will be able to help you anyway.

If you are paranoid, you don't need to press anything. We know who you are, we know what you want, and we know how to reach you.

If you suffer from low self-esteem, please hang up because all our operators are too busy to talk to you.

Well, heck. If the mods aren't paying attention, here's a picture of former Playboy Playmate DeDe Lind.

I dont know how anybody else does it, but I just hit "report abuse", explain my problem, and sign my name. "report abuse" gets their attention.

I FReepmailed a mod the other day by doing a "Private Reply" to a post made by "Admin Mod" but didn't get a response, either.

So, I never got an answer to my question, which maybe someone reading here can answer.

How can an existing post be completely deleted without even a note at the space where it was?

Any ideas? Someone referred me to a post which was a reply to an earlier post. I clicked on the link to the earlier post and it wasn't there.

The number sequence just went like "Post #45, Post #47" - there was absolutely nothing where "Post #46" had been.

All I wondered was how that could happen. The poster was still active and posting, so it wasn't that everything had been made to disappear by one poster.

And of course, my replies looked really stupid, linking to "nothing" in two places, answering what had been flames to me.

Anybody know?

Is it just me or does DeDe Lind look kind of like a guy in drag?

I know what you mean. I have a really screwed up keyboard. When instructions tell me to press ANY key, I look and look, but I don't have an "ANY" key on my keyboard.

I'm going to demand a refund.

It's just you. Dede's hot. I was twelve when I sneaked the Playboy with her picture in it out of one of my friend's Dad's house. She moved me into puberty all by herself.

Don't worry. I've made lots of stupid replies without the mods doing anything.
