Why is Indiana photographed at a far lower resolution than all of the rest of the United States???

it's at a far higher resolution than most of the country. Take a look at Michigan for example.

Why would anyone (other than police) want high-res pictures of Detroit?

I disagree strongly. Here is a picture of the house where my mother was born in Poseyville, Indiana, shown from an "Eye altitude of 1052 feet"... It's the house that is the Northernmost blob... it is also the oldest house in Posey County with parts of it built in 1803.

And here is a photograph of my house in Stockton, California, from an eye altitude of 1048 feet... its not nearly so old... or so blurry...

You can see the obvious resolution differences... the Indiana photo is far less resolved and detailed.

Since you suggested Michigan, here is a picture of the port at Mackinac Island, Michigan, (about 5 miles from the bridge that connects the Southern Penninsula to the Northern Penninsula from about 1163 feet....

Obviously, the various areas are sat-photographed at various resolution... but Indiana is the only state that the Rez changes with its borders... wierd.
