Early in the Duke lacrosse rape investigation, Durham District Attorney Mike Nifong, who was in a close race to keep his job, spoke about the physical and emotional trauma the alleged victim had suffered at the hands of the players. A police affidavit stated that her medical records revealed the victim had "injuries consistent with being raped and sexually assaulted vaginally and anally." But according to a motion filed by defense attorneys last week, no such physical trauma was found during her exam at Duke hospital. Quoting from the report, which was submitted to the court under seal, the motion states that the nursewho was in trainingexamined the woman's entire pelvic region and noted only diffuse swelling of the vaginal walls, a condition explainable by consensual sexual activity.
Police documents indicate that the accuser had in fact engaged in such activity in the days leading up to the incident. The accuser told police that she'd had sex with her boyfriend a week before. She added that she'd also performed using a vibrator in front of a couple. (Though the timing of this incident is not specific, the clear implication is that it had happened near the time of the lacrosse party.) And, according to defense attorneys, the boyfriend's seminal fluid was found in her, suggesting she'd also had sex with him within 72 hours. Jarriel Johnson, who identified himself as the woman's driver, told police in a statement that in addition to sleeping with the accuser himself a week prior to the party, he'd taken her to several appointments at hotels in the days before.

Drug traces that can't be connected to CGM are useless to the prosecution, though.
If CGM vomited on the rug, we'd have heard about it.
Vomiting while being choked can be fatal.
How the chemicals got on the rug would be a very secondary consideration.
Bet one of the defense lawyers has some ideas on this issue too.
Bath rugs are likely covered in all sorts of chemicals and junk just from cleaning the bathroom, the bottoms of people's shoes, hair spray, etc.
The rugs were almost certainly only tested for DNA imo.
A defense lawyer would certainly hope the prosecutor did such a search and found NOTHING.
Nifong doesn't appear to be too smart, so I'm not worried about any set up scenes.
He grabbed this fumble of a case and tried to make a touchdown with it for election day, imo.
He was very cocksure that DNA tests would give him his rapists, so much so that the probable cause affidavit actually says that the:
"DNA will immediately rule out innocent persons and show conclusive evidence as to who the suspects are"
They give this as the reason for testing the players.
Too bad it did no such thing and Nifong didn't keep his word....
Nifong quickly had the rugs tested for DNA only, imo.
That motion was filed 22 May 2006. That information what ever it was was in the discovery. I suspect it was the search that turned up Mangum's stuff, the nails, etc. Nifong may have been hoping to turn up blood under the nails, hence the chemical expert.
But whatever it is the defense has it and the defense and legal experts have read it and it amounts to nothing.
Yeah, the pills look pretty weak as evidence against the LAX players, imo.
The idea floated by Kim was that the drink had been spiked. For that you need a liquid, or a quick dissolving pill.
Unless the story is going to change to "Choked a pill down her throat and held her until it took effect."
Possibly Nifong thought he had blood on one of the nails. But those tests failed.
Unreported cash is usually associated with illegal activity. In this day and age the most money to be made is either through arms or drugs. The other stuff, e.g., prostitution follows.
Durham is probably not the center of arms trade but I'd bet there are a lot of drugs washing through that town.
The people who are working to insure those drugs keep flowing are the ones with the most to lose here. Crystal better watch her back.
Also - given the amount of illegal drug activity in Durham the DA would be stupid to accuse the boys of drug posession. If he did, the next question would be where did they get the drugs. Durham, of course - but from whom? Nobody in Durham wants those questions asked.
While I know (realize) my suggestion would open us to yet more abuse, I sincerely believe our system of justice has been turned from one of protection into a weapon. It is now used when you simply "want to teach somebody you don't like a lesson." I have mentioned at home that if it were made clear to those who bring charges that are found to be spurious and unfounded, the individual bringing those charges would be sentenced to the maximum sentence the defendant would have received had they been found guilty and have the same "offender status" attached to their name when they are released from prison -- this might stop. If prosecutors were aware that this would be the case in no small part for themselves, they might insist that investigations be thorough and complete before charges are brought. But what the heck, I'm just the woman who is paying and paid the bill for a really crappy job of justice. I'm just the woman whose son and husband's lives were effectively ruined and not only do I hold them up financially and emotionally, I'm typing this with recently acquired white hair, high blood pressure, open sores, rashes and 60 hours a week at the office while staving off bill collectors and trying to hang on to the house I worked to make a home for 20 years. I'm nobody.
First of all, I simply don't believe everyone on the police force is as stupid as the prosecutor, and secondly, I don't believe the defense lawyers have revealed all the information they have on hand.
Besides, I cast my views in terms of hypothesis, and that only within the frame work of theoretical discussions by others.
Must have hit a real nerve in this for your type of response. Eventually my inferential interrogation technique is going to get one of you guys to lay it all out for us.
Didn't you ever have any fun when you were a kid?
No, I never committed a felony when I was a kid.
It's a major felony in NC to spike food or drink.
No charges for such is telling.
"Unless the story is going to change..." -- you can count on it.
Thanks for the ping.
I thought I posted some information on the the lineage of Clement a while back. Perhaps you missed those posts.

I arrived around 12:15 AM. The same guy who owned Cabaret Royale in Durham (african doctor) greeted me at the door.

Nigeria sends up red flags for me---Congressman William Jefferson is knee deep in Nigerian bribes. Why should Durham be any different?
Wonderful, yet another thread that has been hijacked by muawiyah...
Muawiyah,
Just say no to Nifong's kool aid! Kimberly, Greta, and Susannah all have. For Pete's sake, even Nancy has!
