Reminds me of something when I was a preteen. My dad burned garbage in a steel 55 gallon barrel. One day, when he wasn't looking, we threw a can of mom's hairspray in the fire. Looking back, it's a good thing he wasn't standing close when it went off. He did have to change his underwear though.

When I was about 8, I was at my friends house playing. They used a burn barrel too. His father set aside a can of hair spray, told us they explode in the fire, and left. Not very bright. Of course we threw the can in the barrel as soon as he was gone!

Sorry I didn't reply to your worthy puns. I was having a family reunion this weekend....22 of us, and we were grilling all weekend! And of course it was a...gas!

I have to tell you, I thought and thought on how I might respond, and I finally came up with one. Now I feel like a Kingsford a day! And if any of y'all don't like that, I'll take my foot and briquet off in your @$$!

Okay, I bet you're mad at me for that last comment, and remarking to yourselves "He bach-eed that one." I didn't mean it personally...don't rake me over the coals for it.

Frankly, I think all these puns have been pretty well done; I'm not sure which one I like baste! Furter-more I haven't seen anyone get flamed, although there was a lot of good natured ribbing. You guys (and grills) are all pretty coal, but I think it's about time we stick a fork in this one...

I have to say this: For such rare puns done in this difficult medium, they are well done.
