Pet Peeve of the Week: It's HezBoALLAH. Get it?

Is it minor? Is it just me? I mean, obviously we KNOW we're talking about crazed jihadists here and all, but just when did the A get dropped from Hezboallah (the Army of Allah)?

If it's stupid political correctness, let's just stop it now. Whether it's H-I-Z is unimportant, whether it's B-O or B-U is inconsequential, but losing the tie-in to "Allah" is dishonest.

They'll take money from Syria, they'll take money from Iran, they'll take your lunch-money if they can; but please let's not lose sight of who they really think they're working for.

Actually, I think it's probably spelled and pronounced correctly. Arabic is very weird. When words have different tenses and meanings, they don't change the ending of the word, they change sounds in the beginning and middle. Thus, Islam and Muslim. The word is -sl-m, the parts where the dashes are determine the meaning, gender, number and so on.

So, Allah, or the word for their moon god, whose forms are variations of -lah, when followed by the hezbo part of hezbollah, might just be lah. An Arabic speaker could verify.

I don't know, but I'd love to have an official Arab-speaker's take on it. For instance, I know that with insha'allah... (if it's God's will)... they pronounce the ending a and the beginning a.

(Plus it usually was Hezboallah in the past. Still exists online.)

Well, frankly, since you asked... I'm a little over the PTBs and intelligentsia behaving like Mahmoud Ahmonajihad is bluffing, or maybe just a wee bit nutty, when he continually mentions his ("soon to be realized!") desire of erasing Israel.

There's so much "religion of peace" garbage being flung about that even when these folks talk plain we still think it's an issue that deserves more "cultural sensitivity".

I think it started when the media at the start of the Iraq war refused to recognize that "Allah" is not God, so would say they were praying to God, etc. Now they say Hezbollah means "Party of God." No, Allah is the religion of Islam's name for their god, but that is not the true God, the only God as revealed in Scripture.

Anyone can make a claim theirs is the right god, like the Mormons, but when they redefine who Jesus Christ is (the spirit-brother of Lucifer, not eternal God, not the only God), then they have re-defined the correct Jesus out of existence. We as a country need to realize our only blessings have been because of the right God, the only God blessing us, and we need Him and cannot continue rejecting Him, or we will end up being as uncivilized a nation as we see in the backwards Islamic and heathen nations.
