Has anyone else ever noticed that many people "mainly liberals" like to get personal instead of debating the issues.
For instance, I was on another message board debating a woman about the war. She told me "war is always wrong" "bush is a war monger". I came back with a response, did not personally attack her. I typed out many reasons on why we should fight terrorism. Her response was "why arent you in the military if you like war so much"... WHAT ?? 1. I never said I like war. 2. it is none of her business on why I have never joined the army.
I was debating another person in another thread. It started as just casual conversation. I told her I had just got back from visiting my girlfriend in Canada. We went on, I brought up some of the problems there are in our society and how christian values are under attack, Later on she posts a question asking me if I stayed at a hotel while I was in Canada, I say no, she says where did you stay. I am thinking "why does she care", I answer and tell her I stayed at my girlfriends apartment. not long after that she uses that to discredit me in the debate by saying. "that is not very christlike, you should have waited for marriage". for 1 how does she know we did anything. and 2 it was none of her business.
you notice the trend. when you have no substance, you attack like a pit bull. that is the liberal way. It is amazes me everytime I see. Same style, same wording from the SAME type of people.
like they are all clones.
I see that a lot on the illegal immigration threads, such as folks playing the race card against those who want a crackdown on illegal immigration. It isn't just a liberal thang.
I get quite addicted to this myself.
Her response was "why arent you in the military if you like war so much" This is a Michael Moore tactic ... I think a good response is : Once YOU join the Taliban, I will join the US Army!

Rush stated today that debating leftists is often futile because so many of them truly are idiots and if you think you can change their minds you will most likely end up sounding like an idiot as well. Wish I could remember his exact words because they were very cleaver, but was his jest.
Of course the fact that some of the people screaming for a "Shoot the illegals on sight" agenda on the Illegal threads ARE racists doesn't matter. NO instead we should attack the Freeprs who are pointing out an uncomforatable truth instead of holding those posters accountable for their race based agenda.

If you ask, "do you have family in the military?" They will scream at you, "hel! no, I oppose the war!"
They are commies and they suffer from BDS. Pay no attention to them.
I hate to say it, but some conservatives do it too. I was always more pro-choice than pro-life (although I'm not as ardent about it now.) When I first came to FR, I'd get into debates about abortion, and conservatives would often demand to know whether I'd ever had one. Of course, I never answered because no matter how you answer, they use that to disqualify you from even having an opinion. Never had an abortion? Then you don't know what you're supporting. Oh, you've had one? Then you're just afraid to admit to yourself that what you've done is wrong. I think liberals are more vicious about it, but both sides do it.
After I state the fact that I already served, I usually get, "Join up AGAIN!"

Hmmm ... groups such as the Minutemen actively worked to screen bigots from their organization. But I guess they are somehow still guilty to you of bigotry.

some of the older liberals in the 55-65 age group are so mentally screwed that they think this is just like Vietnam. and my generation is faced with all of these really big problems and looking for solutions, we dont know what to make of their pathetic vitrol.

Several weeks ago a raging nut job got within two feet of me in front of the White House. He started screaming, "I WAS IN VIETNAM, WHERE WERE YOU?" (as if that made him more qualified to comment on THIS war than I)
I stepped toward him and screamed right back, "I WAS AT HOME SUPPORTING MY MARINE HUSBAND THAT WAS IN VIETNAM!"
He was running away before I could finish my sentence! LOL!
