I agree with you...it's why I haven't bought their latest CD (I will "steal" it one day from a friend instead). I can't give them my money....but I can appreciate their music and musicianship.
Save your effort. Remember them as they were, before they self-destructed. This latest album is too full of bile to be enjoyable, which is a shame. When they want to have fun, they're a heck of a lot of fun!
I think of this whole thing like a big fight between a husband and wife. After everything has been said, and everybody has had time to cool down, it's time to settle down and try to see the other person's point of view. Maybe there can be a little growth on both sides and things can work out.
But this doesn't work if, just when you are settling down to work things out, your wife says "You know, I was right all along. And P.S., you're a moron". This is what the Chicks have done with there recent statements and this latest album. If they're going to be that way, you can't blame the fans for walking away.
We partly agree. They may be decent musicians, but I won't listen to them, won't watch their videos, and wouldn't steal their cds from anyone as that person might want to buy another one. They offend me, are repulsive to me and are banned from my home, my tv, my vehicles, my sight and my hearing. I'm glad that they have reveal their "true colors" so I can react accordingly.
