Three Iowa County men tried to dig up a woman's grave

The men face charges of attempted misdemeanor theft and attempted third degree sexual assault. Investigators say the three men went to this cemetery in Cassville Saturday night to dig up the grave of Laura Tennessen.

The nursing assistant died in a motorcycle accident in Cassville, not far from where's she's buried. A criminal complaint against the men says an officer responded to the intersection of Wall and East Bluff Streets to investigate a suspicious vehicle.

The officer then questioned Alex Grunke, who was walking toward the vehicle, dressed in black and sweating, according to the complaint.

Police say they learned from Grunke that he and two others were at the cemetery to uncover Tennessen's body until a car prompted them to flee.

Officers arrived at the graveyard to find the top of the vault exposed. Also in the complaint, friend Dustin Radke admits to helping the brothers so Nicholas Grunke could have sex with the woman near the Grunke home in Ridgway.

The family's priest Father John Norder says, "We were up here last night, and I re-blessed the grave, had prayer service for them." Father Norder presided over Laura's funeral service last week. She rests next to her brother, who also died in a traffic crash, ten years ago.

Investigators do not believe the men knew Tennessen. Prosecutors say one of the suspects, Dustin Radke has a prior record. They're scheduled back in court for a preliminary hearing in ten days.

I'm gonna pass on the Ping.

It totally PAINS me as to what f-ing FREAKS we have these days living in The Heartland. My son is 19. Do you think I even want to hear about the freaky things kids of his generation are even attempting to do? *SHUDDER*

You like to think you're immune to this stuff, but thanks to the WWW you can have ANY little mentally-ill piccadillo you happen to have catered to and encouraged. And you just KNOW these Wisconsin kids didn't learn about having sex with a corpse while they were sneaking smokes behind the barn! Outside influences. It HAS to be. We DON'T live this way here! *SHUDDER*

I, personally, can live without thinking too hard on this stuff, and I don't see it as my Civic Duty to bring it to the attention of others. *SHUDDER*

And if this were YOUR daughter (and I trust you will have offspring in the future; a smart, handsome, Conservative young man such as yourself) how could you ever rectify this in your own mind? Who wants memories of their child such as this seared into their brains? *SHUDDER*

Situations like these in REAL LIFE are the same reason I can't watch really violent movies, or hard-core porn. I mean, I DON'T want this sickness in my head for the rest of my life. I just don't.

/rant off

I bet their parents are SO-O-O-O proud of them!

Especially the Grunke's.

They got one kid who looks like Pee Wee Herman and the other one's the spittin' image of Emo Phillips.

"Nah, these guys are classic mental ward material. I prefer to reserve the death penalty for those who kill people and molest children. When it comes right down to it, these guys just dug a hole over a grave. They should be punished, and severely, for putting the womans family through additional trauma, but this isn't a killing offense."

I have to disagree. Some things in this world are just simply too evil to even contemplate. The law has got nothing to do with it. If I were the governor, I would publicly announce a governors pardon to the people who ace these creeps.

Can you imagine what that girls parents and family have to be going through? She was tragically killed when she was 20. Imagine loosing a kid when they're only 20. And then on top of that a week later these worthless punks decide to pull this atrocity.

Prayers for the family.
