That's interesting. I didn't know that. I think I've always associated the word "Luddite" as having something to do with the Pennsylvania Dutch or whatnot. I had know idea it went back to England, and it carries the implication of not just mere refusal of technology but actual sabotage of it. Interesting.
"know idea" ???
Good grief...
[siip]
I think there's something going arond today... lots o' typos.
Ture that!
Maybe you shouldn't spend so much time doing ~other~ stuff...
Mmmmm... ~other~ stuff...
The front of the house...
The side of the house (where the pear tree used to be, that fell down a couple of years ago...you see the shop there in the back...)
Take one down, pass it around...
It's a winter wonderland! :~)
It sure is pretty, huh? Covered up all the dead leaves and brown grass...if it weren't for that recliner, everything would look very tidy!
Talon, ignore Corin, he's just a troublemaker.
I managed to finish... by completely neglecting housework, workouts, balanced meals, Christmasy stuff... That's other stuff, right?
Here's something funny. On the news last night, 911 operators reported that people were calling in about non-emergency stuff like school closings and such. The oddest call they got was someone reporting icecicles on a herd of cows and could someone send a policeman to check on the cows' wellfare.
No kidding.
Man, I really love Oklahoma.
Well, were the cows OK?
Heh...does look like that typewriter is pretty close to baby poop color...cross between that and Texas Yellow.
I wanna go home and play! Good thing it's Friday...
Pretty...
*sigh* We didn't get that much snow, really, did we?
It makes me homesick...but at the same time, they're actually getting record warmth out there. Haven't really had much winter weather yet.
We had a loose herd of cows wander through our back yard one night when we were living in Indiana. Of course we had three acres, so they had lots of room to roam. We were worried that they'd get out on the highway though. It never occurred to me to call 911! I called our neighbor, across the road, who had dairy cows, thinking they might be his. He said they likely belonged to a man down the road who had some of his cows penned on our side of the road, and he gave me his number. I called him, woke him up (it was after midnight) and he came down and herded them a little further down the road where a friend of his had a field with a sturdy fence. It was an exciting night!
The snow looks pretty; I hope we don't get much of it this year, though. Too many things we have to do to have to fool with it!
Yesterday, when the weather was absolutely dreadful and the conditions of the roads were treacherous, they made Steve work and only let him have an hour off. He drove home in the pit of the storm that we knew was coming...
Today, when it's bright and shiny, the roads are relatively stablized...they let Steve come home. Right now.
Apparently, no one but Steve and his boss and one other person came in. So they're calling it a day. Ha!
That's ok with me.
See you guys later!
If Dad gets a snow day, kids should get a snow day too. I hope the Jedis get to have fun!
We only ever had about two snow days but Mom would usually let us rearrange our lessons if there was particularly great snow. Time enough for math after dinner, there was sledding to be done!
They've gone out twice already!
AND they're almost done with their lessons!
I wish they had snow suits though...they don't any more. I dry their clothes in between playing.
