Based upon all the hype, this looks like a bust. Nothing really new, just a larger hardrive capacity and a few games. Yawn.

Any idea what time they're going to re-open I-Tunes?

I would guess any time now. Jobs is just about done with his presentation.

Well, here's hoping they get more studios than Disney under contract. I understand the hang-up has been on pricing.

"Based upon all the hype, this looks like a bust."

Looks like you've fallen for the insidious "One Last Thing" trap.

I guess. But there was a lot of hype that Apple was going to release the next gen iPod (gen 6) with a larger video screen and perhaps 16:9 ratio capability.

What hype? Apple released an invitation and attached a single image to the invitations. That's not really hyping.

And we got plenty of things besides iPods, particularly in terms of new iTMS products and that iTV box. Downloadable NFL games will be nice, as will the new features in iTunes 7.

I hope iTunes 7 is available for automatic download.

I ordered the 80 gig. More battery life (big selling point). Brighter screen. More storage for video.

Our local Costco had a big stack of various iPods today so there must be upgrades in the pipeline....

I think I'm going to order one, too. I don't think I'll buy the first G6 models anyway, so I won't be missing anything. But this sounds outstanding - 80 gig?!

Downloaded iTunes 7 last night, some huge improvements. Gapless playback, and the ability to flip through album covers are my favorites so far.

Mine is on a FedEx truck in my neighborhood. I suspect it will be signature required, darnit.

There is some groaning about iTunes 7.0 around the web. I noticed it took all the resources it could get on my tower. I imagine we'll see some patches pretty quickly.

As would be expected. It's a much more substantial overhaul than previous releases; not surprising that there are bumps in the road.

I'm confident it'll all get worked out, and the new features are amazing.

I picked up my new iPod at FedEx on the way home. Wow. The screen is beautiful. Movie playback is great. Being a deafie, I had to crank the volume all the way up on my old one. I can get away with 80% on this one. The bass is noticebly better. I downloaded one game for it and it has PSP grade graphics.

I'm a happy camper.
