Not surprising after one week, but this week's rankings were all over the map, starting at the top. The Steelers moved back to No. 1, while the Seahawks slipped two spots to No. 3. Four teams got first-place votes -- Steelers (2), Colts (2), Seahawks (1) and Ravens (1) -- and 16 teams received votes in the top 10. Five new teams (Jaguars, Ravens, Falcons, Bears and Chargers) entered the top five, with the Ravens jumping from No. 18 all the way to No. 6.
The Panthers fell 10 spots from No. 2 to No. 12. An overreaction? Maybe, but these ranking are always volatile at the beginning of the season while things shake out.
At the bottom, well if any of you watched the Raiders or Packers over the weekend, then you know who's at the bottom. The only question was which team would be all the way at the bottom. But really, could you go wrong with either one? ...

Indeed, but that's to be expected. I just like the idea of the Jets knowing exactly what's coming and being unable to do anything about it.
I do think Dolphins/Bills will be a better game to watch, though. We've got a new offensive lineman already.
So would I. I would remind him to run downhill, dont try to get it all at once, and then just pound it. Make that defense tighten up and the you can check down to the fade to Holt.
I got free tickets to the Astros/Phillies game on Sunday, and I'll probably go because I'm running out of chances to watch baseball in houston (doesn't look good for a postseason this year). I will miss the early football games and will be wondering what's going on in the Battle of Ohio, though. The Bengals should win but you never know. Plus I'm hoping to see the offense look sharper, and if the D is as capable as last week.
They can get after the QB...they just have a hard time stopping those darn RB's.
Especially if the defense is in a nickle.
Divisional games are always tricky.
And that usually spells defeat in the NFL.
Especially in January.
Baseball? Well, to each his own... I wouldn't mind seeing some Marlins games, as soon as they move the stadium up to Hialeah.
Indeed, but it's a little too early to think about January right now. I just want to see some teams establish themselves.
Guess I'll have to see what happens next week. I hope I wont be pacing in front of the TV again. My wife hates that.
It is. The Patriots had 0-2 starts in two of their Super Bowl seasons.
When I think of sports I think of baseball first. Football is a strong runner-up. There's something about being present at a great baseball game that is magnificent. I got to go to the Stros/Braves 18 inning game last year, as well as WS Game 4 when the White Sox won it all. Great games, one ending in triumph and the other in defeat. It's almost poetic.
I do that and I find myself yelling advice to the players. That really bothers the other folks in the room.
Good I'm not alone in doing that then. My wife will look at me and say, "They cant hear you. Honest."
I'm ten times worse when I'm at the stadium because I think somehow Brady can hear my voice over all the other fans.
Here we go Steelers!
