Is there any way to get rid of these stock tip faxes?
I've called the number at the bottom of the fax to be removed and still they keep sending the dam things.
If I knew where to go find them I would kick their ass.

I saw someone here on FreeRepublic once say that they taped several pieces of black construction paper into a loop, and then faxed it back to the number they got the junk faxes from.
They set it to go on a Friday afternoon and left it going all weekend....

That would be great but with these type you call and enter your number and they SAY their going to remove you, but never do. You can't fax them at this number.

Those things are a nuisance, aren't they? My fax machine is the roller ink type, and those faxes can use up a ribbon in no time. I, too, have tried to call the #'s, and I think they must be doing an end run around the law through some technicality.

You're stuck. It's a lot easier to scan and email a document than to fax it.
Fax machines will be very rare 10 years from now.

Why don't you get a setup to receive faxes to your PC? you can view the pdf's and delete the ones you don't want.

You can sue them for $1500 per fax, if you're determined to go through with it. I believe the law is the Telecommunications Consumer Protection Act (1990).
