Albert Einstein once said "There are two things that are infinite. One is the Universe and the other is human stupidity. And I'm not sure about the Universe."

So maybe it does have a center.

From what I understand, it's from inside the Beltway of Wash DC.... somewhere around Pennsylvania Ave.

1) Take a standard flat map of the universe.
2) Using a yardstick and pencil, draw a line from the upper left corner to the lower right corner
3) Draw a second line from the upper right corner to the lower left corner

The center of the universe is where the two lines intersect.

Tulsa, Oklahoma. No, I'm sorry, that's the Cultural Center of the Universe.

Actually, it depends on who you are. If you are under the age of five, or a Democrat, the center of the universe is yourself.

"Someone please define "center of the Universe." Where, exactly, is that?"

When I was in High School back in the 70s a number of us in my physics class (we'll actually we were cutting class that day and riding around in an old Dodge van) had a deep deep discusion on precisely where the center of the Universe was.

After many hours of discusion (and much beer consumed) we reached the unanimous conclusion that the center was somwhere near Farrah's err... ahh... right breast.

See picture:

Washington, DC. Or Mecca. Depends on your political affiliation, I guess.

Sounds like another Tower of Babel. If they've been able to define the "boundaries" of the universe [so that they know what the "center" is, then somebody's got a pretty tall tower that gives them a good "comet's eye" view :) ]

It's right here. And over there. In fact, there is no "center" so every point in the universe is as qualified as any other to be the "center".

That makes this story hogwash.
