Re: Giada...
To quote Master Yoda: "Hit it I would."
Rachael Ray has got to be the most insipid, talentless, and uninteresting "personality" on television. Her culinary "adventures" are pedestrian and completely boring.
And in this "cookoff", here is the queen of food mediocrity competing against three chefs with formal training and actual restaurant experience.
How in the heck did she ever get her books published or find a slot on TV? Only in America.
What drives me absolutely crazy of these four chefs and their shows is Rachel Ray. On her 30 Minute Meals show she goes to the pantry, cupboard, refigerator and insists on trying to get every possible ingredient she needs and stacks everything in her arms before taking it over to the preparation area. Rachel! it's okay if you get two or three items at a time! instead of all 20 at once! It's not like the pantry is 5 miles away!
Of the four, only Rachel that does not have a formal education in culinary school. But, don't count her out yet. Especially since she's pairing with Mario.
Giada and Bobby Flay are the two stars of this foursome. With both of them paired up on the same team they should have no problem taking the title in this Kitchen Stadium battle.
If I were laying odds like on an NFL game I'd give Rachel and Mario at least 24 points. Bobby and Giada will still win by plenty.
"Yeah, 12 books by Rachel so far."
Danielle Steel has 71 books.
Rachel is cute, but she's no chef and has no breasts
Giada is a babe and a good cook. Plus, she's Italian. Mama Mia!
Flay and Batali are both supposed to be lower sphincter orifices.
"noun Anatomy a circular band of voluntary or involuntary muscle that encircles an orifice of the body or one of its hollow organs."
As they say, "I'd like to butter her muffin".
ROFL.. No breasts...Right, that's the most important feature of the female chef!!!
I think you should change your screen name to garyhopeLESS. ;o)
MM
Heh.
Her show comes on Sundays at 1 PM on Food Network.
It is must see TV in my household.
I love her and my wife loves her... for different reasons, of course.
And perhaps you could change your screen name to "humorless".
You do have a nice dog though.
LOL When you change yours, I'll change mine.
Yes, I do.
Iron Chef bump!
Giada is so adorable. I like Rachel Ray too, but then, i'm thinking of their shows and personalities, not their bods. sheesh. Y'all think with your little brain ALL the time, dontcha?!!
I really miss HGTV!!!! (got rid of satellite)
DeLaurentiis is very cute even though her veneers are too big and her boobs look fake.
But yes, I would too! :)
You can be cute without breasts?!?!?!?!
I think you have mistaken me for some other poster.
She is cute, she is your girl-next-door and she cooks things the normal person can prepare.
The FOOD network is cheapening all their shows by pitting one against another. They used to be far better than that, but now it seems they are only interested in ratings. The producers used to care about their people, now it seems they care about money more than anything. Great sellout FOOD network!
All of their shows are as great as ever. This will get more folks to the shows of Giada, Bobby, Rachael and Mario. It's a win-win for them and the viewers.
Yes, I admit it, quite often I am "hopeless", despairing, cynical and depressed.
Plus I don't own a dog.
Aren't you tired of Rachel yet? I used to really like her and her perky personalilty, but suddenly she was just too ubiguitous. Plus, she was just everywhere!
"She is cute, she is your girl-next-door and she cooks things the normal person can prepare."
So is my niece, whom I don't think should have a TV show.
She has man hands and I wish someone would tie them down. And that VOICE........arrrggggg Like fingernails on a chalkboard!
Oh yeah and everytime she says "EVOO" she ALways THEN says "Extra Virgin Olive Oil". What's the point of saying EVOO??????
Wrestling topless in EVOO?
I'd watch that.
SD
I cannot find anything particularly redeeming about her.

Damn, I'm hungry now.
Stock Ownership? Advertising Executive for FOOD network? Anyway, my opinion is different from yours and it appears that you want to change my mind. It's probably a good idea to accept that not all ideas are the same as yours, because regardless of the plug I have not changed my mind. Nice try, though...
Rachel has packed on some pounds since that picture.
Snort!
she has lots of energy?? SHe can carry lots of food at one time? The "garbage bowl"?
You are now by decree ordered to change your mind. The powers granted to me for this decree are beyond contestation. So let it be said, so let it be written, so it shall be done.
It's just a cooking show. I'm seriously not being serious about this seriously serious subject of a show where chefs prepare great food and a show that you really really really enjoy watching and a show that I know you watch every single solitary replay of even if it's many years later from recordings you've made on 8-Track tape.
;)
:)
To be honest, I dont watch much television and when I do, I ain't watching "Miss no boobs" Rachel. :o) But I do agree, she does seem to be everywhere.
p.s. Go get a dog
MM
It's amazing how a cooking show can even start an argument / debate here at FR.
LOL!
:)
Here's for Rachel.
I think Giada is GREAT. She is an outstanding chef. Well, she looks great too!
Giada appears to to have approximately 8,000 teeth.
LOL I suppose, but Im really not arguing or debating with anyone. I dont watch enough of any television show to really have an opinion. I just thought Garyhope's comment about Rachels boobs..or lack of, was funny. Im not all that amazed at some of the things that transpire here on FR...some just love to start a war of words over insignificant garbage :o)
We arent/werent arguing, we're we Garyhope? LOL
Awww, but her laugh is so cute!
Real cooks who love cooking shows get sick of watching chefs with an army of sous-chefs and the neat little rows of mise-en-place...what relevance does that have to someone who needs to feed a hungry, busy family? For years, TV chefs only cooked frou-frou restaurant meals, bristling with chive whiskers. Remember Nouvelle Cuisine, artsy fartsy?
Have you ever noticed just how many different meals she's cooked over the past couple of years? I watch frequently, and have seldom seen a repeat. She's taught me techniques of planning more than actual dishes--how to shop, gather ingredients and get the meals done quickly before the kids raid the cookie drawer after school.
She's not a pro, and people love that. Recently Emeril poached a salmon to use in simple patties, and scolding the audience--how hard is that, he said. Well, that's not hard if you've gone to the grocery store and bought the fresh salmon, something that takes a good part of a REAL cook's day. But the canned salmon out of a well-stocked pantry still makes a pretty good pattie, and you then have the juice in the can to whip up a caper sauce. That's why I'm tired of the chefs, and want to watch real cooks feed a picky family every day.
