Why don't you all just calm down and listen. This isn't some PR spin — this is the definition of a gracious winner, so stop whining. Democrats may be a lot of things, but they certainly don't want to alienate anyone. This is for real. Why don't we agree to disagree about certain things and work together to make real improvements in areas that really matter, you know, to real people? Screw gay marriage and abortion talk — we're at war, remember? We need to put our focus on rebuilding Iraq, putting a stranglehold on al-Qaeda, and winning this war.

If you don't want to work together with the Democrats to end the war in Iraq, aren't you enabling the terrorists?

Oh please. Are you being sarcastic or just ignorant?

You really think quotes like the following are gracious and not accusatory:

You've got to be kidding me. Someone feeds you a lump of shit, and you swallow it with a smile because he frosted it.

I promise to now do what I have never done before, what I have refused to do before, and what I have worked to pillory anyone who has tried to do to my party before. TRUST ME!

I will believe this is "real" when they actually start living up to these promises. Starting with Jefferson. Starting with Reid. Starting with "working together" by compromising on THEIR position with the republicans.

If you don't want to work together with the Democrats to end the war in Iraq, aren't you enabling the terrorists?

Please... The democrats have stated far to many times they wish to simply END our involvement in Iraq, not to WIN this war as a central piece in the war on terror. Don't lie to us, when the truth of the dem position is widely known - trumpeted in fact by their failed vengeance against Lieberman in Connecticut.

Except that we know, as you know, that this is all post-election happy talk that's about as sincere as a three-dollar bill. You people and your media have spent the last six years calling us racists, bigots, mouth-breathing idiots, theocrats, Nazis, baby killers and war criminals. And now we're supposed to believe that you really weren't serious, and now you're interested in just getting along?

This isn't "gracious winning" - it's arrogant, condescending bullshit, and as far as I'm concerned, you can go rub it in someone else's face.

"they certainly don't want to alienate anyone"
WOW! What planet are you on?
Maybe this particular guy doesn't - BUT the VAST VAST majority don't give a damn! The only thing most of them understand is whine whine whine "I diden git my way!! sob"
"I'm smarter, better, and more liked than you....and now that we're in charge you're all going to do whatever we want...and..and.."why can't we all just get along?"

As far as Iraq is concerned - There's absolutely no doubt that it's the single most important issue of our time!!!
The problem is - the Dems can't be trusted, at all, to help in any meaningful way to achieve victory there. There are just too many of them who believe either that we "can't" win or that we shouldn't even be over there.

Pretty sleazy spin even for a Democrat. Your crew wants to cut and run. To properly finish the job in Iraq it will probably take years. But it was just too tempting of a target for your party, a party devoid of ideas, to pass up. Your team needed something to rally around, something to motivate them. Socialism is a proven failure so you had to attack Iraq.

Due to this campaign you're leaders can not stay to finish the job. They will cut and run, maybe on a timetable, but they will abandon the fledgling demoracy. Another Saddam will take over in Iraq. Then the terrorists have won.

You make a lot of good points.

I agree with you on the gay marriage. We should not be concentrating on that.
