A Baton Rouge man is accused of raping a male friend who fell asleep at the suspect's home after an evening of drinking daiquiris.
Police charged 35-year-old Nathan Otto Bryson with forcible rape.
According to an arrest warrant, the alleged victim reports he, the suspect, and a third man were drinking daiquiris at Bryson's home on Government Street when the victim became very sleepy. The victim asked the suspect for permission to lay across his bed and rest, the warrant says. The victim stated he woke up to find the defendant raping him, according to the warrant.
According to court documents, police seized several items from the suspect's home, including a half-full gallon-sized jug of daiquiris, three styrofoam cups partially filled with daiquiris, and a "brown furry bedspread". Police indicated they would test the contents of the daiquiri to determine if any illegal drugs were added to any of the drinks.
The third man at the house that evening says he was throwing up in the bathroom when the victim banged on the bathroom door saying they had to leave. He said the victim was "crying and appeared very upset." He took the victim to a hospital.
