It's New York vs. New York tonight--Rangers against Islanders. Game started at 5 PM EST, but I've been busy putting up Christmas lights so I didn't get to see it :)
Let's go Rangers!!
Hockey ping!
My two favorite teams are the Minnesota Wild and the Carolina Hurricanes.
I've been a 'Canes fan for about six years now. Watching them win the Stanley Cup was great - especially because I watched all the play-off games four years ago when they lost 4 games to 1 to the Red Wings.
The Wild started on on fire but with mounting injuries, they have been slipping. That need both Gaborik and Dimitra back on that first line.
OTOH, Carolina is not doing exceptionally well this year either. The Buffalo Sabres look primed to win the Presidents Trophy and secure the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Sabres have been flat out awesome in the games I've seen.
I think we could very well see a Sabres/Ducks Finals.
Have not seen the Ducks this year. I'm stuck with what Versus broadcasts (and what I can manage to stay awake long enough to watch). But I'm seeing more NHL this year because my youngest is old enough to drive himself to hockey practice. He has two seasons left after this one and THEN, I'm getting Center Ice, HDTV and, hopefully, most of the arenas will have Rail Cam.
It's true.
Carolina beat them 4 games to 3 in last year's Eastern Conference Championship...and the Sabres were missing a couple of their best players.
OTOH, the Red Wings were the team to beat in the Western Conf last year and the got knocked off by Edmonton in the 1st round.
It's definitely gonna be an interesting year.
I like the Wild too. And yes, the Sabres are doing great this year! They've got a good shot at the Stanley Cup.
Canadiens are playing tonight, scott! Haven't checked the score yet though.
I went to one of my high school's hockey games today. We won 9-2!
Montreal up 1-0, second period just started. Congrats on your team!
Thanks for the memories, Joe.
