CLOTHING: Animal skins provided clothing for the Eskimos; their favorite was caribou because it was warm and lightweight. Lacking caribou they would settle for seal, polar bear, or even Arctic fox. Styles varied from area to area, but in all regions everyone wore the same combination: a hooded jacket, trousers or leggings, socks, boots, and mittens. Sometimes goggles made from wood or bone were worn. In winter two sets of clothes were used. The inner layer would have fur next to the skin. The second layer would have fur on the outside. Air between the two layers helped keep body heat in and allowed perspiration to evaporate. A single layer was enough during summers.

My two cents:

I would only shoot what I intend to use. I wouldn't shoot an animal simply for the sake of killing it.

On the other hand, I think PETA would be happy if we turned into some cannabalistic society.

Although it seems we have some of those traits already.

When our sons completed their hunter safety courses, they were told by my wife and I, "Hunting game, the taking of game, proper care of downed game, and cooking of the game is part of hunting."

If you shoot it, you will eat it. So think about what you shoot before you shoot it. If you don't plan to eat it, don't shoot it.

Youse know what would really be news?

If PETA could only catch an animal claiming that its fur is faux fur, but is really real fur from another species. You may relax over the holidays, as I am in the woods checking this out and will report back to this space with my field data.
