The whole subject is really interesting ever since I had a sighting myself.

The whole subject is really interesting ever since I had a sighting myself. My whole neighborhood has seen odd stuff around here and virtually everyone here is a pilot, so I doubt they'd misidentify a known aircraft.
The wife and I (both pilots) saw a really wierd craft of some sort a couple of years ago while driving through SW Wyoming. This was about 2:00PM local time. It looked like a gray and black hot air ballon, but it was moving sideways at about 300 knots. We were on a hill a mile or so away from it, close enough for me to see the shadow it cast on the ground. It passed between us and another ridge about 4 miles away, then disappeared into the haze. The really odd thing is we both had cameras sitting on the seat between us and neither of us even thought about taking a picture. In fact, we didn't even really say anything for about 20 minutes. It was weird.

I had one too. Many years ago while making the rounds at my mens foxholes in WA state,I spotted something I knew to be out of the ordinary.I was making the rounds at about three am in the morning making sure at least one of the two men manning the foxhole were awake. While sharing a smoke,a line of bright red light streaked across the sky, which is very expansive at night, make a ninety degree angle, turn blue and disappeared. The man in the foxhole became very excited and said"did you see that?!'I said see what?At that point he became aggravated at me.I said,I have a secret clearance and if I reported that,my clearance would be revoked, and without it,my job would be over.I suggested he say nothing for his own good.To me,it was the right thing to do under the circumstances.A crazy label does not a promotion make!
