How will Apple react? I don't know. Releasing Leopard, maybe?
IBET ping ...
React presuposes that something has happened ...
What has happened? Nothing.
I don't share my MP3s nor do I acquire anything that's not legitimate; I just don't like the in-your-face "lockdowns."
Muffled laughter?
With Vista (*yawn*) coming out now and getting its 15 minutes of attention, at least some of the sheep are rushing off to the store to get sheared...
By sending a Get Well Soon card?
I cant recall ever seeing any Mac commercials before the Ipod gave them enough revenue to produce them.
The Mac is irrelevant ... I work in a brand new building with 200 engineers, mathematicians and scientists on one floor.
Not one Mac ...
We all love the commercials they are making, they are humorous and its funny to see the way Apple is poking fun at PCs ... but they can afford to make the commercials because our teens are buying $200 Ipods, not $2000 Macs.
Mac sux... Can't stand the stupid OS or the gay little machines.
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
Bill Gates just did an interview for Newsweek. I found this quote to be interesting...
"Nowadays, security guys break the Mac every single day. Every single day, they come out with a total exploit, your machine can be taken over totally. I dare anybody to do that once a month on the Windows machine."

OS-X is better?...Maybe, But the day you see me buy a mac is the day I buy a Volkswagen and eat with Chopsticks...which is never.
Never...with all the new Big Brother DRM "features" of Vista, XP will be my last OS.
I haven't read the replies yet.
We got Vista along with the new computer. Absolutely love it.
People that just bought the software are having problems...maybe not enough computer?
Who cares how Apple should react?......I don't.

Here's a question I'd like to ask :
If Apple compters ported their O.S. to run on an intel machine,Would you buy it? or would you buy Vista?
No I don't want anyone to say they would stick with Win XP.
(It's a hypothetical question if you HAD to upgrade.)
Only Microsoft can get away with selling a product which they admit won't work with other products for a month or two.
I can't imagine what the reaction would be if the manufacturers of washing machines told their customers something like:
"Not to worry. The detergent manufacturers will have compatable products in a couple of months."
"Do be careful in the meantime because some detergents may cause your machine to become inoperable, destroy all your clothing, or have some other negative consequence which we can't even begin to warn you about. Best of luck and thanks for buying a Maytag!"

Apple will react by releasing even more obnoxious commercials. Heck, they're even giving GEICO a run for their money.
What need is there for a "reaction" to Vista on the part of Apple? Vista is basically a reaction to the last 4 generations of MacOS X.
Apple, I suspect, will just continue doing what they have been doing so well - developing quality hardware and a super OS that is more secure and still more user friendly than any version of Windows to date, including Vista.
Even many Pro-MS/Windows publishers have put their reviews of Vista in context of what OSX Tiger (and the soon-to-be released Panther) ALREADY do. If I were Bill Gates, I would be most worried that OSX is the benchmark by which my own software is evaluated.
Over the years, Windows has grown closer to the Mac OS in features and user-friendly-"nes", yet still seems to be trying to play catch-up more than being truly innovative. Yes, from what I have heard, Vista has some interesting features, although some have a bit awkward implementation. Yet most of these new features are just warmed over versions of what OSX already contains.
And to continue with that idea - at what cost the "new" Windows? I suspect many will have to do some serious upgrading (either components or whole new machines) to be able to satisfactorily run Vista. The eye candy and features come with some serious hardware load.
But hey----Let the FUD continue...
How long until Vista SP1 and SP2? How long until some MAJOR security holes rear their ugly heads?
I will continue using my several year-old MDD Power Mac that has never seen nor worried about worms, virii, or other Malware....
