BRUSSELS, Belgium -- An animal lover was mauled to death by cheetahs after entering their cage at a zoo in northern Belgium, authorities and zoo officials said Monday.
Karen Aerts, 37, of Antwerp, was found dead in the cage, Olmense Zoo spokesman Jan Libot said. Police said they ruled out any foul play.
Authorities believe Aerts, a regular visitor to the zoo, hid in the park late Sunday until it closed and managed to find the keys to the cheetah cage.
"Karen loved animals. Unfortunately the cheetahs betrayed her trust,"

You can't trust them. That's why they're called cheetahs.
"Not In My House!!!"
Big cats are dangerous but a little.......
Playas play and cheetahs cheet.
After its studies man sciences (Saint Dimpnalyceum, yellow) she graduated in 1992, to the Karel the large college in Antwerp as graphic illustrator. After further vervolmakingscursussen and worked she lived a year in London. There she worked on the children's book department at publisher salamander Books and later at publicity studio The Creative consortium. In Belgium she walked back a half year training period in the Service Centre digital media of the Limburgs Universitair Centrum in Diepenbeek. Since 1997 she has worked as a illustrator at publisher RG Visualia in Dessel. She has been already involved of in the early beginning in the new media school. They devised the house style, as well as this Internet site and cooperated in the design of several projects such as ARTLINKS and other.
She really majored in "Deh-Deh-Dee".
Cheetahs are people-lovers.
I haven't laughed so hard over a death...well, not ever. I about fell off my chair when i read this: Unfortunately the cheetahs betrayed her trust...
That's just funny!
And the cheetahs loved Karen--especially with a little chianti
On the other hand, I'm not stupid enough to climb into a cage full of them either. Even ordinary dogs can be dangerous if caged.
Some people climb into animal cages, others don diapers and drive cross-country ... it's a mixed up muddled up shook up world ...
She must have known that today is Darwin's birthday.
Of course! These were cheetahs, not chickens!
"Unfortunately the cheetahs betrayed her trust..."
ROFLMAO! The human herd is thinned yet again. ;)
Hold Muh Perrier Alert.
They can actually be reasonably safe pets. I used to see one being walked on the streets of Vienna on a leash back in the 1970s. But I imagine they would need to be raised that way. Modern zoos try to keep the animals wild, socialized with each other rather than humans, and behaving as closely as possible to how they would behave in nature. And frankly, if they'd been normally trained guard dogs, the reaction they had to this obviously unauthorized intruder would have been expected. If a stupid unarmed intruder broke into a family home equipped with a pair of Great Danes, the intruder might well end up dead if the dog owners weren't home or didn't choose to call the dogs off.
Further vervolmakingscursussen was clearly required.
They've been known to do that.
That's easy for you to say!
SOme translations just don't work out right.

Nature lovers -- the other white meat.
With her verve for cursin' and cussin' it's surprising she got to work with children...
"There she worked on the children's book department"
A new Dr. Seuss title, perhaps -- "The Cat In The Hat Ate That"
" Police said they ruled out any foul play."
Well, you can't blame this one on the chickens, then. Poor cheetahs. They never win.
Crunchy on the outside, soft and chewy in the center.
Helping the gene pool.
