Just as with Telander's attack on Tony Dungy's Christianity a few weeks ago, this one starts out strange and keeps getting weirder particularly the race angle.

With Britney (her mother was too stupid to know how to spell Brittany) spears in rehab, why isn't that alone enought to take custody of those poor childrn?

(Trust me - I already know the answer in this "mother can do no wrong' and "father can do no right' legal system we have)

I guess it's just a coincidence that the Pats and Colts beat the Bears this year.

Sorry, I don't get your point. Is it OK to get pregnant outside of marriage? Is it OK to get your girlfriend pregnant? Are the statistics wrong about the number of white and black babies born outside of marriage? (I think the stats I have seen about black babies born outside of marriage puts the number higher than the one quoted here.)

What this dope does not get is that this was basically a man trap. Their 3 year relationship was over, and all of a sudden she's preagnant, now he has to take care of a child he did not want.

Must remember to never stand too close to Rick Telander as his breath obviously smells like BS.

This guy is right on the money.

Brady is irresponsible, as is his former girlfriend, and some little kid gets to pay for it. There is tons of research that kids do best with their own dads & moms raising them.

I think I am offended. Men can be dogs no matter what their race is. If I were Tom Brady's ex, I would have gotten him to marry me for the baby's sake. (Plus it can't be all that bad waking up to him in the morning)

I'm certain Brady didn't want a kid. He was set up. She told him she was on the pill and he believed her.

Just as one could laugh at fellow superstar -- and equally white and All-American -- quarterback Matt Leinart, who impregnated a fellow student in his last year at USC and never had much interest in her, beyond the obvious.

Again, Matt wanted no part in having a baby. This chick knew what she had in her grasp, so to speak, and she made the most of it. She's pretty and tall (5'10") and she saw the opportunity to procreate with a tall handsome NFL QB to-be. Going to a sperm bank for Leinart's or Brady's sperm would cost a fortune, but these women know they can get it for free.

I find this very disappointing. Brady always seemed like a straight arrow. It seems that he has swallowed whole, however, the modern sensibility when it comes to sexual activity and marriage. Why can't celebrities be models of sexual continence outside of marriage, and have normal marriages and families? They should feel a responsibility to be good role models for their fans. I'm fed up with American celebrity culture. They're more anti-models than role models.

Telander is one of many sports "journalists" who wants to make the Olbermann Leap into regular news work, and thinks the way to achieve it is to write opinion columns disguised as sports commentary.

If I were Tom, I would get a paternity test ASAP. Sounds like the ex wants an instant family, just add money.

As syndicated columnist Leonard Pitts wrote recently, there is this pernicious idea among certain headstrong females and careless males ''that the father is unnecessary, that so long as there's some uncle around to show the boy how to hit the mark in the toilet, everything is hunky-dory.''

One reason this idea is so prevalent is because far left, race-baiting assholes like Pitts and this columnist have joined up with the feminists and democrats and have spent decades proclaiming that fathers are unnecessary or even dangerous, and that women and children are better off having the man replaced by a government check. You want to whine about why so many kids don't have fathers, Telander, look in a friggin' mirror to see one of the reasons why.
