Eddie Murphy did not like losing the Academy Award for best supporting actor to Alan Arkin last night. He split the show exit stage left! as soon Arkins name was announced.
Murphy didnt stay to see Jennifer Hudson win best supporting actress in "Dreamgirls" or his fellow castmates Hudson, Beyonce, Keith Robinson and Anoki Noni Rose perform the shows nominated songs in a stellar staging by "Dreamgirls" director/writer Bill Condon, who wasn't an Oscar nominee.
That may have been the problem with "Dreamgirls" all along, as Ive suggested before: Much as the movie depends on a song called We Are A Family, the cast could not be marketed that way. From the beginning, Murphy acted as a loner. He was the lone holdout at the Cannes Film Festival last year when 20 minutes of the movie was shown to distributors and press.

Get over yourself, Eddie. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose.

Do we have his reaction on camera like Faith Hill's was?
To: PJ-Comix
He must have heard that there were some cross dressing hookers outside the theater.

He's going to be crushed at Cannes when Norbit doesn't win anything.
To: PJ-Comix
Hey who knows...he could win best actor or actress for the 'norbit' movie:

George C Scott and Marlon Brando have both indicated that the Oscars is a long drawn out boring event and pretty much a hassle to attend.
I suspect that the only reason that Eddie even bothered attending was because he had a nomination.
I myself haven't watched the Oscars in years, decades even, it's boring and painful to watch.
I'd probably leave too.

PJ, he really had the best performance in that movie. Did his own singing and choreography. Don't blame him for leaving. I didn't watch the show, but FOUR plus hours? I'd have left too.

I'm with you. You don't win, you leave early to avoid the rush.

Eddie needs to realize that the Oscars are politically correct and boring.
If he wants to win a Oscar, he needs to do a pro-abortion or anti-republican movie. He'll be a shoe in.

Get over yourself, Eddie. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. But with an attitude like that, he's going to lose a lot more often. You are relying on votes from the Academy for these things. The members are not going to vote for a sore-head.

Same here. He was a really funny guy years ago and did some great work. I don't know if it's poor choice of movie roles, or bad material, or maybe he's phoning it in. But he hasn't done good work in a long time. And that's unfortunate.

Black Gumby was his best role. Its been all down hill since then.

They voted for Marlon Brando and for George Scott. Both are soreheads.

While many of the nominees are incredible actors it's quite something else when they have to be themselves. The clothing supplied is usually hideous, their comments on the red carpet prove they're empty shells until they have a director helping them act a part.
The magic of the silver screen is lost when we see these people at the Oscars.
