It was delicious, although I understand the Quinoa was expensive, because it was Organic. We need to find a cheaper source (I don't care if it's organic :-), because it's tasty and incredibly nutritious.

I buy organic. I can't afford it, but I figure I'm worth it. ;o])

Sometimes we get organic grains at the health food store, but I figure it's worth the savings (considering our quantities :-) to get ordinary whole grains if they're available.

Yepper. But I live alone, so all my millions and billions of dollars can go to myself. I'm very selfish that way!

(It's been so long since I cooked for more than one person, I only have small pans...)

We keep needing bigger pans. Mom gave us a humongous casserole dish for Christmas a couple of years ago. Before that, we were using three at a time, and no leftovers unless the kids didn't like it!

You should see the bowl my mom used for making banana pudding.

And no leftovers, either.

LOL!

When I was a new bride, I spent two weeks at my husband's uncle's farm, taking care of his kids while his wife was in the hospital having her 10th. All of them were under the age of 13.

I had never seen such hugh pans, nor cooked such hugh quantities of food in my entire life! I did it, though. And I washed all the dishes as well as all the clothes.

Whew!

But I left there, still convinced I wanted a dozen kids....

I assume the lady didn't breastfeed. I couldn't have kids that fast if I wanted to, unless I had multiples.

I don't think I even tasted a banana until I was 15...

My husband likes banana pudding, but I've never had the taste for it. It's always good when I find something incredibly fattening with no nutritional value that I don't like!

I don't believe she did...especially since I was always washing baby bottles...

I found a site with organic quinoa for $30 for 10 lbs. Not a bad per-pound price, and if we're going to use a lot of it, 10 lbs. isn't going to last long.

Breastfeeding wasn't in fashion in those days.

No, it wasn't. After my son was born, I'd heard of a new movement to encourage mothers to breast feed...it was called, "La Leche League."

I only like banana pudding when it's in a pie. And COLD!

A layer of Vanilla Wafers, a layer of pudding, a layer of sliced bananas. Repeat until three closest grocery stores are out of bananas.

Top with meringue. Serve after dinner.

Hose down kitchen.

A layer of sliced bananas, pudding, a layer of sliced bananas and top with whipped cream. CHILL! Eat two slices and give the rest away...

Nah. You're missing the texture, the migrating essences, the sweetness of the Vanilla Wafers.

Done properly, suthren banana pudding is a delectable, decadent, delicacy.
