I remember the mountains
lofty pinnacles edged in ice
reaching for heights beyond them
impudent giants with attitude
in every foot of their altitude
Massive, beyond even rude
unaware of your life’s interlude
from their need, their struggle stems
and we see only a fraction’s slice
in the flow of Time’s fountain
