Writing the essay in and of itself is not a crime. If he threatened anyone in it, that’s a different story.
However, he’s a disaster waiting to happen and needs to be dealt with.
I don’t see how this differs greatly from other published works, or even some movies....will we eventually start putting people away, just for thinking these kinds of thoughts?
He could have avoided a lot of trouble if he said he would do that to white, hetero, Republican males only.

Ridiculous. This is just a predictable and typical overreaction to a tragedy by a society that once again refuses to deal with root causes, and wants an easy fixit.
So....we have a panicked overreaction to a BS creative writing assignment.
