BESSEMER, Alabama: A gunman fatally shot two bank employees during a robbery Monday morning at a Wachovia bank branch in Alabama, authorities said.
Deputies later shot one suspect as he left the bank with a gun held to a female hostage's head, and they were searching for a possible second suspect, a sheriff's spokesman told The Birmingham News. The spokesman said two other employees were shot and wounded.

One of the two people who were killed was pregnant. Frankly I hope the police shoot the perps while trying to catch them.
I do not understand why banks have not taken their employess and put them behind bulletproof glass, and all transactions done thru a sliding drawer. Convenience stores and gas-marts have done this for years.......
I don’t know why 15 bank employees didn’t pull out a gun and turn the perps into swiss cheese upon entry? That would be the ideal situation.
I’m not sure there’s a way that a “deadly bank robbing” can go right.

Bomb Squad Called To Farmersville Bank
FARMERSVILLE, Ohio -- Officials said the Dayton Bomb Squad has been called to the scene of a suspicious device in Farmersville.
The device was found on North Broadway Street at the U.S. Bank. Investigators said the suspicious device was found inside the bank’s mailbox on Monday morning.
Members of the Dayton Bomb Squad are trying to figure out what the device is.
If the robbers are the only ones killed is one way for it to go right.
Of course there is silly! When armed civilian kills the perp in the bank, thats a good "deadly bank robbery (attempt)".

I guess bank robbers on the loose killing pregnant women just isn't news to Freepers and Lurkers in Birmingham, AL.
I guess I'll just use CNN and FoxNews for my breaking news on murder's on the loose since Free Republic isn't interested.
And people question why I stopped giving money to FR during their fund raising attempts. I used to be good for a $100.00 a fund drive. No more. This is not the first instance of moderators use of insipid discretion.
He was shot by lawmen when he tripped on a curb, and he and the bank manager fell to the ground. The money was recovered.
Jefferson County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Randy Christian said he couldn't comment on the bank robbery itself, but did confirm that sheriff's deputies were first on the scene. Two deputies from the warrant detail were passing by when they saw people running from the bank. Two more deputies in a second patrol car arrived, and a call for backup went out, Christian said. A deputy shot the suspect.
"I have no doubt they saved lives out there," Christian said. "I just wish they could have saved some inside."
I agree with your view especially in the Bessemer Alabama area. One other point a customer is reported to have pulled a gun and held the perp briefly but he should have got him when he pulled the gun. That is all I learne dfrom a Birmingham News Blog.
