It’s still too early for skeeters up here; they come out roughly the 1st week of June.

I'll be here. After I get the new beer fridge set up on the deck. Hey, the truck race is on speed in ten minutes...

I'll probably be here. Dunno if I'll have TV coverage (debating on whether to blow out the laptop's batteries so I can watch).

Scary thought for the rest of the field - that car Robot's running this weekend had some impressive stats last year before being semi-retured at the end of the season - 10 starts, 2 wins, 5 top 5's and 7 top 10's.

"I wonder who Humpy's taking." With assistance from world-renowned "mental illusionist" Lawrence Gregory, H.A. "Humpy" Wheeler revealed Jimmie Johnson as his selection to win Saturday night's NASCAR NEXTEL All-Star Challenge at Lowe's Motor Speedway.

He's picking Montoya for the Open.

He picked a few others who would challenge JJ - not Matt and not Jr and not Kurt Busch who's car looked like it was running on rocket fuel last night or maybe it was the gold paint sheme.

Figures. The almost-all-Hendrick set of predictions (with a couple of RCRs thrown in just for grins) is the ultimate safe bet, which will probably get you a dime on $10.

The surprising pick is JPMoveover. This isn't a points race, so the odds are greater than normal that he'll be taken out.

My guess is he will be a wild man out there. Not many in the Open to show him who's boss, so he may move over someone else to get to the front.

MEMO
To: All NASCAR Network Television Partners (SPEED, TNT, Fox, ESPN, ABC)
From: NASCAR Fans (A whole lot of them)
Date: Immediately Through November 2007
Subject: Last Lap Of Races (NEXTEL Cup, Busch and NCTS)

Effective immediately, all networks will cease the attempt at creating drama on the last lap of any race. Fans have been watching the race since the beginning...and they know what is going on!

People across America, wearing their driver’s colors and loyal to that team would like to see their driver finish the race. Even if the battle for the lead is side-by-side, when those guys finish...there are a lot more on the way!

In reference to the people that you show on TV instead of the other cars finishing, the crew chief, the pit crew, and the girlfriend/wife. We will be seeing them again shortly...in Victory Lane. We do not need to miss the finish of every other driver in the race to see them now.

ps - If Dale Junior finishes in the top five and you do not show him again...we are coming to your house. Look for the large red swirling mass.

MORE HERE - RE TRUCK RACE LAST NIGHT

They gots SPEED chunnel on the TeeVee over by here. I had cheddar cheese on my grips too...

For a MILLION BUCKS tonight??? It’s a crap shoot...any one of the Hendricks cars could win. Humpty said so.

I hope everyone has SPEED Channel to watch the races tonight and not FX.. I used last years old thread for some of the template. Oops!

I need to check at my M-I-L's and see if she gets it on cable or I'm out of luck... at least I won't be losing any points tonight. :-)

SPEED Channel 4 pm ET..
