We will not tire, we will not falter, we will not fail
Hope your weekend was enjoyable and productive, and you're ready for the week ahead!
Let's hope the news stories which reflect in some measure our national interests move away from Paris What's-her-name!
Yes, the youngest and I came home for a variety of reasons. She needs to do some prelim work prior to college and I need to get healthy. It is thought that a change of scenery (with different germs) might help.
We’re going back in August.
Alabama??
Congratulations to your daughter. Now it’s off to college.
Oh Riv, I used to hate those inspections. So glad I not longer experience them.
What happened to your shoulder. What kind of surgery? Are you in therapy? Hello to Mrs. Rivendale.
Good evening, a quick check-in before I kick up my feet for the evening.
We are patched up but not fixed...parts must be ordered and will be into next week before they can be installed. Until then, we can still operate fairly well so should be OK.
It seems we made the right decision to head out when we did yesterday. The location we were had 2.5 inches of rain, all coming very quickly with some localized flooding. I think we might have had a difficult time getting out of where we were parked.
West of us and NW of where we were, there were reports of a town that had 5 inches of hard rain and another location that had a whopping fifteen inches of rain, fast and hard.
Yikes.
Yes.
Right On Chair! I have little use for leaches, either those who need “being taken care of” cause they’re too lazy to work, or those who “leach” off friendships. I’ve experienced one of those....it’s a terrible drag.
We’re supposed to get some thunder bumpers and rain tonight, tomorrow, day after tomorrow and the day after that. We do need it though.
I’ll bet you would love to have a baby in the house, wouldn’t you, Toby? Talk about spoiling!!
Party time at Neets! Two smokers...you could go into business. I would be a customer if I were closer to you.
Seriously, I know you are a great cook, Neets, and that food sounds yummy!
C’mon over.
There will hopefully be plenty of food.
All are welcome.
No more rain here for a while.
I am hoping that in addition to firing up the smoker this weekend, we’ll get some pool time in too.
Everytime we plan on going to the pool it turns into a very overcast and cool day.
OH!
And did anybody else here know that Arlen Specter is from Russell Kansas, the same home town as Bob Dole?? I certainly didn’t until we drove by a large billboard outside of Russell “advertising” that little factoid.
Regarding Specter, I guess every town has it’s homegrown idiots....
As for the shoulder, it had been bothering me since before I retired from the AF in 99, but the Ortho surgeon at the time advised me to wait as long as I could for surgery to allow for arthroscopic procedures to become more advanced..so I did until this year when it got to the point that it was interfering with my day to day life.
I had surgery on 30 May to remove 3 large bone spurs, fix a torn labrum, and shave down the acromiom (end of the collar bone) bone. I got lucky in the fact that the rotator cuff wasn't torn, only abraded. So I started therapy on 1 June and have been recovering extremely well, for which I am very pleased! (God is really watching over me!)
It won't be long and I will be back training for my segment of the relay team Mrs. Rivendell and I are on for the AF Marathon this Sept, once full stability is restored to the shoulder. We are really looking forward to it.
Have a wonderful evening and I will try to get back to visit tomorrow!
Good morning. Where are you?
Good morning. I'll be gone for about a minute. I need to get a refill.
